    Abstract: A printing blanket construction is provided which includes a reinforcing fabric ply comprised of a weft insertion fabric or a heavy gauge fabric, where the reinforcing fabric ply provides all of the necessary tensioning properties to the blanket. The use of the reinforcing fabric ply eliminates the need for additional fabric plies in the blanket construction, and provides high tensile strength, low stretch, and resistance to gauge loss.

    Abstract: An intermediate transfer blanket for use in an electrophotographic imaging apparatus is provided which includes an inner body portion having at least one reinforcing layer, and an outer body portion having at least one reinforcing layer and an electrophotographic image transfer face, where the outer body portion is releasably securable to the inner body portion. The blanket construction allows the printing surface to be removed from the blanket and easily replaced in a cost effective manner.
