  • Patent number: 12459489
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for reducing vehicle movement during standstill. In one example, a method for a hybrid or electric vehicle may include monitoring a requested torque of an electric machine and a clutch position, predicting a torque at an output shaft by multiplying the requested torque and clutch position, and operating the hybrid or electric vehicle in a default state in response to an indication of a predicted torque exceeding a threshold torque.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 8, 2023
Date of Patent: November 4, 2025
    Assignee: DANA BELGIUM N.V.
Inventors: Peter Deckmyn, Biagio Borretti, Tony Libbrecht
  • Publication number: 20250271314
Abstract: Methods and systems for estimating torque of an electric machine that propels a vehicle are described. The methods and systems may generate torque estimates that may be applied to higher and lower priority systems. In one example, a contactor may be selectively opened according to a torque estimate that is based on interpolating between two curves.

  • Patent number: 12277044
Abstract: Methods and systems for building and operating a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) system are described. In one example, executable instructions to model a controller, operate a controller area network (CAN) bus, and process analog signals are separated from executable instructions that simulate or model a physical system. The executable instructions are separated so that they may be executed via different computer cores so that a real-time process of the HIL system may not be interfered.
