  • Publication number: 20240182308
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for converting a waste FEED material comprising a cellulose containing part and optionally a non-cellulosic part, for example plastic, to useful products said process comprising contacting the waste material with a first molten salt solvent at a first low temperature to dissolve the cellulose, separating non-dissolved components from the cellulose solution, precipitating and separating the cellulose from the used first molten salt solution and carbonizing non-dissolved components at high temperature in a second molten salt solvent comprising the used first molten salt solvent to form solid carbon and hydrogen.

  • Patent number: 8669294
Abstract: Streams (11) of natural gas contaminated with significant amounts of carbon dioxide can be efficiently and economically processed to create Syngas (16). An available source (1) of flue gas that might otherwise be dispersed into the atmosphere in conjunction with such a CO2-laden natural gas stream (11) renders the process even more economical and efficient through the creation of multiple feedstreams (14, 27, 34) that are combined to deliver a composite near equal mixture of methane and CO2 to a plasma reactor (15) or the like that will generate Syngas. When coupled with a Fischer-Tropsch reactor (40), the overall process provides a particularly efficient and economical process for producing synthetic liquid hydrocarbons.

  • Publication number: 20120055385
Abstract: A method (10) for the separation of gases involving the method steps of: i) passing an exhaust gas stream (27) containing CO2 through a first membrane separation system (30) to produce a pre-concentrated gas stream (34) containing at least carbon dioxide; and a reject stream; and ii) directing the pre-concentrated gas stream to at least one purification step (50) to produce a purified CO2 stream (55); wherein, sulphur-containing gases (SOx) are also substantially separated from the exhaust gas (27) by the first membrane separation step (30) into the pre-concentrated gas stream (34), and the purified CO2 stream (55) is substantially free of nitrogen gas.
