  • Patent number: 4345774
Abstract: An improved construction for roller skate apparatus is provided in which enhanced safety, performance, convenience and economy are achieved through the employment of a universal type of skate plate in conjunction with a correlated configuration for wheel carrying trucks adapted for permitting fabrication of the skate plate by molding from synthetic resin material, interchangeable mounting of trucks of either the recreation, speed or artistic skating types to selectively provide the user with various desired skating characteristics without the expense of purchasing multiple pairs of entire skates for different types of skating, interchangeable mounting of trucks at either the front or back of the skate, and selective mounting of a toe stop on the skate plate in a position most appropriate for use of the skate upon either the left or right foot. The features provided by the improved construction have individual utility, as well as accomplishing overall advantages when employed together.

  • Patent number: 4084620
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a spout assembly, such as a tub spout or the like for use in a fluid system employing a diverter valve and shower head or the like. Most of the parts of the assembly may be made of plastic, and the assembly includes a spout body having inlet and outlet chambers and a partition with an aperture therethrough separating the two chambers. A plunger is reciprocally mounted in the outlet chamber, and a portion thereof cooperates with a flexible diaphragm mounted in the aperture in the partition for terminating the flow of water through the spout assembly to thereby cause diverter valve operation, and flow through a shower head or the like in a conventional manner. A lift button is coupled with the plunger by a stem extending into the outlet chamber through a portion of the body. The plunger may include flow directing vanes for directing the flow of fluid from the outlet chamber in a desired manner.

  • Patent number: 4071170
Abstract: Powdered material such as insecticide or the like is moved from a hopper by the combined effect of gravity, vibration and induction of a rotary blower for distribution as a gas-powder suspension. The element for vibrating the powder is driven by the blower to induce vibrations in the material along a plurality of different directions. Alternate versions include a canister of material removably located in the hopper, and a container that replaces the hopper and is removably secured to the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 3940069
Abstract: A caplike member is received onto a container for including a supply of materials to be sprayed onto lawns, shrubs and the like. A swivel nut mounted on the caplike member interconnects with, say, a water hose. A rotatable drumlike body on the caplike member has a pair of inserts with different sized bores passing therethrough, and which bores or passages are selectively positionable in alignment with a feed opening connected to inlet water, which tube lower end has a single proportion balance control orifice. The insert openings have lateral communication channels opening into a feed tube that extends into the container. A nozzle is rotatably affixed to the drumlike body and is individually adjustable to select any one of several exit openings which form different spray patterns. A further aspect is the provision of a hand operable valving device which directs inlet water into the container as a pressurized jet for initial mixing with the spray materials.
