  • Patent number: 10494083
Abstract: Aerodynamic drag associated with a flap hinge assembly used to pivotally mount a flap to the trailing edge of an aircraft wing can be reduced when the cross-sectional area of the hinge fairing which surrounds the flap hinge assembly is reduced in size. The reduction in cross-sectional area of the hinge fairing is enabled when the flap hinge assembly attachment footprint to the underside of the flap box is also reduced. The flap hinge assembly has an internal support rib positioned between spars of the flap box structure internal to the skin, a hinge fitting exhibiting an actuation point and a hinge point positioned proximate a front spar of the flap box structure external to the skin, and a link passing through an aperture in the lower skin of the flap and coupling the internal support rib to the hinge fitting.

  • Publication number: 20140224499
Abstract: A modular well intervention assembly includes a jack assembly having increased stroke length that can be installed directly over a well or above a BOP assembly. Modular work platforms and a telescoping mast assembly can be installed and secured in place around the jack assembly. Tongs can be suspended from a hydraulically operated “track system”, eliminating the need for a conventional tong pole and spring. Pipe can be manipulated relative to the well intervention assembly using a hydraulically powered pipe handling device.

  • Publication number: 20060183855
Abstract: Segmented water soluble polymers, containing a higher molecular weight segment linked to a lower molecular weight segment, are described. In one embodiment, the polymer segments are poly(ethylene glycol) segments. The segmented polymers are functionalized and are useful for conjugation to various moieties such as pharmacologically active substances. Also described are conjugates of such polymers and methods of their preparation.

  • Publication number: 20060081526
Abstract: An oil filter casing of the present invention includes a tool engaging member to facilitate oil filter installation and removal from mounting with an engine block. The oil filter casing includes a tubular sidewall spanning to a first end and a second enclosed end to house a filter element. The tool engaging member is connected with the enclosed end and is formed of a receiver extending inwardly towards the filter element and a brace extending from the receiver to connect with the casing at one or more locations distal to the receiver. The receiver is adapted to receiver a tool, such as a socket wrench, to effect rotation of the casing when rotatably mounted with an engine block.
