  • Patent number: 8712833
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for selective control of advertising messages on distributed document processing devices. Device identification data is first received corresponding to the identity of networked document processing devices available for display of selected advertising content. Device selection data representing a selected subset of the networked document processing devices is then received, with the selection made in accordance with the received identification data. Next, customization data is received corresponding to a selected display parameter associated with the selected advertising content. The selected advertising content and the received customization data are then communicated to each of the networked document processing devices in the selected subset. Each of the document processing devices then commences the display of the selected advertising content in accordance with the customization data.

  • Patent number: 8335013
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for color printer calibration employing measurement success feedback. Color input data is received corresponding to a color printout from an associated color measurement device, the color input data including M×N discrete color areas corresponding to M rows and N columns on the printout, with M and N representing integers greater than 2. A display including a color image comprised of each of the areas arranged in M rows and N columns is then generated on a display device. Color input data is tested to determine successful measurement of colors corresponding to the color areas and a row-based indicator is generated for a successful measurement of color areas within a row. Calibration data is received of a comparison of the color printout to the display and an associated color printer is calibrated based upon the calibration data.

  • Patent number: 8228573
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for iteratively acquiring optical color measurements for device color profiling. A first color measurement data set, in a first color space, is received of a measured value for each of L discrete printed color patches in an M row by N column planar array, where L, M and N are positive integers greater than 2, and L is less than M×N. A visual rendering on a display of color patches arranged in M rows and N columns is generated from second color space measurement data. Profile data is generated of the transition between color data and color measurement data based upon the relationship between available printed patches and displayed patches. When L is less than M×N, a visual indicator is generated for the displayed row of the current L value. A second color measurement data set is received uniquely defined from the first set, which second set includes patches not found in the first set. Profile data is then generated based upon the second data set.

  • Patent number: 7986434
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a color space transformation system and method employing multiple three-dimensional linear interpolations. First, N-channel multi-dimensional color space color image data is received into a color lookup table, which includes entries having values in a multi-dimensional color space corresponding to selected values in an N-channel multi-dimensional color space, with N being any integer greater than 2. Values in the color lookup table are then addressed in accordance with the received image data. Next, 2N/8 three-dimensional interpolations are then applied to an output of the lookup table corresponding to the received image data. Thereafter, (2N/8?1)*3 linear interpolations are then performed among outputs from the three-dimensional interpolation. Transformed image data is then output in accordance with an output of the linear interpolation.

  • Publication number: 20100041371
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for mobile telephone-based user authentication. Data records are stored in a data storage, with each data record including a cellular telephone number and pre-set payment mechanism data. Login data is received via a user interface associated with a document processing device that includes a telephone number of a cellular telephone associated with the user. The presence of a data record corresponding to the login data is determined, and operation of the document processing device is commenced upon the presence of a data record in the data storage. A data message is sent to the cellular telephone corresponding to the telephone number of the login data. Confirmation data is received from the cellular telephone responsive to the data message, and an operation on the document processing device is completed in accordance with received confirmation data.

  • Publication number: 20090147293
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for utilization of transferable settings for multiple document output drivers. An initial document output driver associated with a document processing application and at least one document rendering device is first accessed. Next, selected document output settings associated with the initial document output driver are then received from an associated user. A save setting instruction is then received from the associated user via the initial document output driver. Responsive to the received save setting instruction, the selected document output settings are stored in an associated data storage. Thereafter, via at least a second document output driver, the saved document output settings are selectively retrieved so as to configure an output of an associated electronic document via the second document output driver.

  • Publication number: 20070279675
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for selective intelligent job output control. A device driver receives a document processing request and output document processing device selection. The device driver queries the selected document processing device to determine whether it is available for operations. When it is not available, the device driver queries similar models of the device on the computer network to locate an alternative device. The alternative device or devices status is then ascertained and used for selecting an available output device.

  • Patent number: 7245392
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for generating a cover page for a fax job. The method comprises the steps of sending a fax job with cover page information to a DID for fax generation and transmittal. The fax job and cover page are suitably separated into two separate jobs prior to submission to the DID. The fax job is then preferably sent to the raster image processor of the DID before the cover page job so that when the cover page job is generated, the number of generated pages has already been determined. After bitmap images are created of both the fax job and cover page job, the fax job and cover page job are suitably swapped and combined into one job such that the cover page job bitmaps precede the fax job bitmaps. After combining the two jobs, the single fax job is suitably sent to a recipient.

  • Patent number: 7164492
Abstract: A source document auto-resizing algorithm in a facsimile-capable device. When a user inputs the source document into the facsimile-capable device, the source document is converted into an intermediate converted document with the resizing algorithm resident in the facsimile-capable device. The intermediate converted document is then transmitted to a destination device having predetermined output capabilities, which intermediate converted document is processed into an output document by the destination device in accordance with the predetermined output capabilities.
