  • Patent number: 7883043
Abstract: A fishing reel, such as a spincast reel or a spinning reel, has a clutch assembly mounted on a shaft adjacent to the rotating component, the clutch assembly for frictional engagement with a rotating component. The clutch assembly has a first and a second protuberance. A bite alert contact is located for engagement with the first protuberance. A calibration member is adjacent the clutch assembly for engagement with the second protuberance. The calibration member provides a selectable amount of resistance to rotation of the clutch assembly, thereby regulating an amount of rotational force required to activate the bite alert contact. The fishing reel may further include a sensitivity switch for adjusting the selectable amount of resistance provided by the calibration member, which may adjust the resistance in discrete amounts.

  • Patent number: 7681821
Abstract: A fishing reel is provided with an electronic demonstration feature that allows for electronic features of said reel to be activated, but which prevents prospective purchasers from unnecessarily depleting battery life of the device. An on/off switch is provided for selectively closing the circuit. A “try me” switch is also provided for temporarily activating the electronics. The “try me” switch prevents manipulation of the on/off switch into the “on” position but allows for the electronic feature to be temporarily activated. After purchase, the “try me” switch may be is removed to allow the on/off switch to function without interference.

  • Patent number: 7000624
Abstract: A lighted umbrella comprises a solar power device mounted on the top end of the shaft of the umbrella. A plurality of ribs is pivotally connected to the shaft. Each rib has a hollow interior in which an electrical wire can be stored. A slot is formed on each rib to accommodate two transparent light guiding rods that are disposed on the slot to form an opening space near the middle of the rib. A plurality of lighting devices is affixed on the rods through the opening space. Energy efficient devices such as light emitting diodes are used as the lighting devices to save energy provided by the solar power device. A fabric supported by the ribs forms the shelter for the umbrella.

  • Patent number: 6779838
Abstract: A foldable chair includes a leg assembly and a reclining back connected together by a pair of joint assemblies. Each joint assembly includes a through hole for receiving a support member of the reclining back, and a through channel for accommodating a control device that adjusts the reclining angle. The control device comprises a spring member and an adjustment block to be engaged and disengaged with a saw-tooth member formed on the lower end of the support member. A control button is connected to a handle of the adjustment block. The reclining angle can be adjusted when the control button is pulled to disengage the adjustment block with the saw-tooth member. The control button may also be coupled with the handle using a coupling device. By having the coupling device, the control button can be pushed to disengage the adjustment block with the saw-tooth member.

  • Patent number: 6536732
Abstract: A swivel mechanism for foldable furniture includes two disks and a rotatable assembly sandwiched in between. Each disk has a plurality of through holes each for receiving an elongated metal tube and jointly connecting the tube to the disk. The through hole has a side wall with a slanted concave surface. A bridge member having one side with a slanted concave surface is formed across the through hole. When the metal tube is held in a slanted open position, the slanted concave surfaces of the side wall and the bridge member are engaged with the tube to provide strong support and restrain movement.

  • Patent number: 5971474
Abstract: A collapsible glider chair having stopping devices for stopping the motion of chair frames and stabilizing the chair. The glider chair comprises a seat-base frame, a back-support frame, a pair of armrests and a pair of link members pivotally connected. A pair of stopping devices are affixed onto the seat-base frame or link members to stop the movement of chair frames while one is standing up and pushing down the armrests. The stopping devices may be affixed near the armrests or the link members for blocking either the armrests or the link members. Anti-slippery devices are also mounted on both the seat-base frame and the back-support frame to increase the contact friction to a floor or ground and stabilize the chair.

  • Patent number: 5861643
Abstract: A JFET device is formed on a semiconductor body comprising an active region for the junction field effect device. A drain region layer is formed below the lower portion of the active region. The top surface of the body is doped to provide a source region layer on the device. Gate trenches extend through the source region layer forming source regions therein. The gate trenches also extend partially through the epitaxial layer. The gate trenches have sidewalls and bottoms. Dielectric spacer layers cover the sidewalls of the gate trenches upon surfaces of the source layer and the epitaxial layer in the gate trenches. Self-aligned gate regions are formed at the bottoms of the gate trenches in doped portions of the active region.

  • Patent number: 5730488
Abstract: A folding chair having cylindrical devices for supporting the back-support part of the chair. The folding chair comprises a seat-base part having a seat cloth and two loop-shaped frames pivotedly connected to each other and two joint members each having two extended arms for hingedly connecting the back-support part to the seat-base part. The back-support part includes a back cloth and two supporting tubes. A cylindrical device having a concave surface with two slightly protruded edges on one end is plugged and locked into the bottom opening of each of said supporting tubes. The supporting tubes sit firmly on the upper sections of the frames of the seat-base part by means of matched surface curvature when the back-support part is hingedly opened.
