Abstract: The presently-disclosed subject matter includes a bracket that can be mounted to a surface, and that can protect openings and other water sensitive areas on the surface from water damage. Embodied brackets can comprise a mount that can be mounted to a surface, an extension that protrudes outwardly from the mount, and an attachment portion to which a water resistant material can be attached. In some embodiments the bracket is mounted to a wall above and/or near an opening or other water sensitive area, and the bracket and/or water sensitive material protect the opening or water sensitive area from water damage. In some implementations two or more brackets are attached to form a continuous bracket structure.
