Abstract: A method of re-correcting the position of a head is used in a disk driving device including a zero track restoring arrangement for electrically detecting the zero track position on a magnetic disk, and including a track counter indicating the track position of the magnetic head. The method is configured to monitor the track number of the track counter and never fails to effect re-correction of the position of the head when the track number is "0" or "1".

Abstract: A disk driving device includes a rotatably driven information recording disk having multiple recording surfaces. At least two recording surfaces among them are provided with mutually related regions originally assigned with identical signals and mutually related regions originally assigned with different signals. These signals are detected by a head assembly and subsequently compared to each other to specify a region in which the head assembly is located.

Abstract: An information recording disk includes detection regions used to confirm presence or absence of written signals, read/write regions available for signal writing and write-project regions which reject signal writing. Regions where the detection regions and read/write regions overlap each other are originally provided with discriminating signals to distinguish these regions from at least the other regions. The write protect regions are distinguished from the read/write regions, referring to information detected by a head assembly.

Abstract: An information recording disk driving device includes an information recording disk having servo tracks formed at predetermined regions which include servo information. The driving device is configured to move a head assembly from a recording track for signal writing or reading to an associated one of the servo tracks in response to a servo information supplied at a predetermined time. An instruction from a controller or an instruction from a host computer to read the servo information from the servo track subsequently place the head assembly at the fine track position of the original recording track according to the detected servo information.
