    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for informing a mobile terminal (MT) about the properties of a communication network (NW). The communication network (NW) comprises at least two base transceiver stations (BTS) which form at least two cells (C1-C9) whose properties affect the functions of the mobile terminal (MT) available in the range of the cell (C1-C9). The current serving base station is at least one base station (BTS) of the cell, through which the connection between the mobile terminal (MT) and the communication network (NW) is maintained. In the method, the location of the mobile terminal (MT) is determined, the properties of the cell (C1-C9) formed by at least said serving base station are examined, and information about at least one determined property of the cell (C1-C9) is transmitted to the mobile terminal (MT).

The method also comprises at least an examination step, wherein received information about a phone call is examined in a mobile terminal (MS) for finding at least one item of caller line identification (CLI), and it is examined whether reference items (PN, UN, GNO, CL1) have been saved in the mobile station (MS). Then, if at least one reference item (PN, UN, GNO, CL1) has been saved, a comparison step is carried out in the method, in which step said at least one reference item (PN, UN, GNO, CL1) is compared to said at least one item of caller line identity information (CLI) discovered in the examination step.

Upon the caller desiring to initiate a call with RCLIP data, the RCLIP data can either be forwarded with at least one call setup signal directly from the calling party terminal to the called party terminal or can be forwarded with the RCLIP data being attached by the network in accordance with an indicator from the calling party, the RCLIP data being stored in a database in the network. The RCLIP data can be presented to the called party immediately upon the called party terminal ringing/alerting.
