    Abstract: A method and device for weight determination of a load lifted by an actuator in a hydraulic lifting device are disclosed. A pressure signal is generated using a pressure gauge, a deviation signal is generated based on a flow signal and a setpoint, and a regulation signal is generated based on the deviation signal to regulate the actuator. An inclination signal is generated using an inclination gauge. The weight of the load is determined based on the pressure signal, the deviation signal, the regulation signal, and the inclination signal.

    Abstract: A method of weight determination of a load carried by a lifter of a lifting device is based on at least one upward and one downward displacement of the lifter by means of a hydraulic actuator. A pressure signal is provided by means of a pressure sensor, and a position signal is provided by means of a meter. The weight of the load is determined on the basis of the pressure signal and the position signal. The position signal is registered as a function of time, an acceleration dependent parameter is determined on the basis of the variation of the position signal, and the weight de-termination is performed in dependence of said acceleration dependent parameter, where during the upward and downward displacement of the lifter, the flow of a hydraulic fluid through the hydraulic system is limited by a bi-directional flow controller. Furthermore, a weighing device is dis-closed.

The cargo handling vehicle comprises a range sensor located on said cargo handling vehicle at a position suitable for measuring the distance to the top of a piece of cargo. The cargo handling vehicle also comprises means for calculating a calculated height of said piece of cargo with respect based on said distance to the top of the piece of cargo, and means for calculating the estimated volume of said piece of cargo based on said known length and width and said calculated height. The cargo handling vehicle is used in a method for calculating the estimated volume of said piece of cargo.
