Abstract: An extracorporeal therapy system includes: (i) a dialysis fluid circuit including dialysis fluid preparation structure configured to prepare a dialysis fluid for an extracorporeal therapy treatment; (ii) a blood circuit including a blood filter for use during the extracorporeal therapy treatment; (iii) a blood pump operable to pump blood through the blood circuit and blood filter; and (iv) a control unit operable with the dialysis fluid preparation structure and the blood pump, the control unit programmed to prepare a gas generation fluid different than the dialysis fluid for the extracorporeal therapy treatment, wherein the gas generation fluid generates carbon dioxide (“CO2”) gas, and wherein the CO2 gas is used to prime the blood circuit including the blood filter.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an acid concentrate dialysis composition comprising a mixture of citric acid and citrate, having pH of less than 3.0, wherein the total concentration of citrate is between 35 mM and 450 mM, and wherein the amount of citric acid is more than 50% of the total concentration of citrate. The acid concentrate dialysis composition is to be combined to form a dialysis solution having a total concentration of citrate of between 1 and 6 mM.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a medical solution, a method for producing said medical solution, a multi-compartment bag containing the medical solution as well as use of said medical solution. According to the invention the medical solution comprises a first single solution comprising bicarbonate and carbonate in such proportions that the partial pressure of carbon dioxide, CO2, in the first single solution is of the same order of magnitude as the partial pressure of carbon dioxide, CO2, of the atmosphere. The medical solution further comprises a second single solution comprising an acid. Said first and second single solutions are, after terminal sterilization and up on use, to be mixed to form a final solution. Said second single solution has a pH of 1.0-1.5, and said final solution has a pH of 7.0-7.6.

Abstract: Method for preparing a medical solution, comprising the steps of a) providing a solution comprising one or more acetylated or deacetylated amino sugar/sugars in at least one compartment of a container at a pH from 2.5 to 5.0, and b) terminal sterilization of said at least one compartment and the contents therein, is disclosed, as well as a solution used for preparing the medical solution, a container containing said solution, and use of said solution for the manufacture of a medicament for peritoneal dialysis.

Abstract: Concentrates are disclosed for use in the preparation of infusion solutions preferably for use in dialysis including gluconic acid and glucose in amounts such that upon dilution with an aqueous solution in a ratio of at least about 1:150, the concentration of the gluconic acid is at least about 600 mmol/l and the concentration of the glucose is at least about 150 g/l.

Abstract: Use of a solution comprising glucose for peritoneal dialysis, in which the glucose portion is sterilised separately from the remaining components at a high glucose concentration above about 20% and mixed after sterilisation, substantially according to WO 93/09820. The solution has a reduced formation of advanced glycosylation end products and the use is indicated for diabetic uremic patients.
