Publication number: 20140152015Abstract: A wave energy converter (10) comprises an energy absorption unit (100) arranged to absorb energy generated by movements of water when the wave energy converter is arranged in a pool of water, an energy accumulation unit (200) connected to the energy absorption unit, and a power generation unit (300) connected to the energy absorption unit. The energy accumulation unit is arranged to accumulate energy from the energy absorption unit when the energy absorption unit absorbs more power than the power generation unit generates and to dissipate energy to the power generation unit when the energy absorption unit absorbs less power than the power generation unit generates. By providing hydraulic components in these units, an efficient and flexible wave energy converter is provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 4, 2012Publication date: June 5, 2014Applicant: OCEAN HARVESTING TECHNOLOGIES ABInventors: Mikael Sidenmark, Torbjorn Andersson

Publication number: 20130200626Abstract: A wave energy converter includes a buoy and a power takeoff. A driveshaft in the power takeoff is driven to rotate by movements of the buoy and is mechanically coupled to an electric generator through a planetary gearbox and drives it for generating electric current at an even level, while storing excess energy in an energy accumulation device. The energy accumulation device is coupled to the generator through another part of the planetary gearbox for driving the generator during the other of the rising and sinking movements with continued torque, rotation speed and rotational direction. Major portions of the driveshaft can be located at a radial distance of the generator, allowing the generator and also components coupling the rotation of the portions of the driveshaft to the generator to be located in a sealed space, the only bearings that have to be sealed to the water being those that support said portions of the driveshaft.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 7, 2011Publication date: August 8, 2013Applicant: OCEAN HARVESTING TECHNOLOGIES ABInventors: Mikael Sidenmark, Torbjorn Andersson, Svante Logeke

Publication number: 20070200405Abstract: A vehicle bench seat assembly includes a seat bottom including a first seat portion having a seating surface, a second seat portion having a seating surface, and a third seat portion having a seating surface. The seat assembly further includes a seat back including a first back portion, a second back portion, and a third back portion located between the first and second portions. The third seat portion is movable between a first position, wherein the seating surface of the third seat portion is generally flush with the seating surfaces of the first and second seat portions, and a second position, wherein the seating surface of the third seat portion extends in a non-flush position relative to the seating surfaces of the first and second seat portions.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2007Publication date: August 30, 2007Inventors: Bernd Rager, Hansjorg Walk, Harald Fischer, Christer Andersson, Torbjorn Andersson

Patent number: 5649680Abstract: A joint dismountably attaches an adapter to a launcher with a satellite. The joint includes first and second flanges. At the first flange (1) is formed with at least one surface of revolution forming an angle with a contact plane between the flanges. The second flange is formed with another surface of revolution forming another angle with the contact plane between the flanges. Clamps are formed with a corresponding lower surface of revolution corresponding to the surface of revolution of the first flange, and with an upper surface of revolution corresponding to the surface of revolution of the second flange.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: July 22, 1997Assignee: SAAB-Scania Combitech AktiebolagInventor: Torbjorn Andersson

Patent number: 5197695Abstract: A locking device for a band or the like comprising a housing having one end fastened to a first portion of the band. The housing extends in the direction of the prevailing tensile force and is formed with a guide for guiding a link means. This comprises a fastening element fastened at its first end to the second portion of the band and at its second end journally connected to a second link at a distance from its first end. The second link is, at its first end, journaled around an axis provided in the housing transverse to the longitudinal direction of the housing. The locking device also comprises a third link journaled at the first end of the housing and a dowel element which, l via the third link, is able to prevent the second link from being turned around the axis to a position where it is released from the axis so that the locking device is opened.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1992Date of Patent: March 30, 1993Assignee: SAAB Space AktiebolagInventors: Torbjorn Andersson, Ingvar Bengtsson, Orjan Arulf, Johan Ohlin

Patent number: 5173749Abstract: Method and apparatus for spectroscopic measurement of the concentration of a gas in a sample where you detect the intensity of light from a light source (1) passed through the sample (4) and through a reference cell (5) and generates a signal which represents the concentration of the gas. A laser diode (1) constitutes the light source which is locked to the absorption line of the gas at known concentration and pressure contained in a reference cell (5). The laser light with the properly selected wavelength is distributed via optical fibres (2, 3, 6) and/or glass prisms (19, 20) to the reference cell (5) and the sample (4). Non-gas-related transmission variations in the measurement path or in the optics is automatically compensated for by a special laser modulation which generates a time multiplexed reference.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1991Date of Patent: December 22, 1992Assignee: Altoptronic ABInventors: Robert Tell, Torbjorn Andersson, Stefan Lundqvist, Henrik Ahlberg

Patent number: 4601878Abstract: A method and an apparatus for producing moulded blanks by hot-pressing metal powder, preferably spherical metal powder, inside a thin-walled capsule comprising an outer sleeve (2), an insertion sleeve (4) disposed approximately centerally inside the latter, a base (3) and a cover (5), inside which one separable mould (1) of solid material may be inserted. The mould (1) and the two sleeves (2, 4) are dimensioned in such a way that between the inner insertion sleeve (4) and the mould (1) there is formed a mould cavity into which the metal powder may be poured. After the metal powder is poured in, the still open capsule is subjected to a preliminary compression by means of vibration. The capsule is subsequently closed in a gas-tight manner by means of the cover (5). Then the metal powder inside the capsule is subjected to a heat-isostatic pressing at an elevated pressure and an elevated temperature of approximately 1000.degree. to 1200.degree.
