Abstract: Apparatus for tilting mutually stacked boxes is useful when the top edge of a lower box in the stack is in guiding engagement with the bottom edge of an overlying box. The tilting device holds the boxes together in the stack and includes an element which is pivotally attached on or adjacent to a base supporting the stack, and which can be swung out from a first position in which the element extends substantially parallel with one side of the stack to another position in which the element forms an angle with this side. The element has mounted on the top thereof an abutment for abutting with a spring device operative to urge the gripping and holding device against the top edge of the uppermost box of the stack.
