  • Publication number: 20160206802
Abstract: A package (1) is configured to store a powdery material (2) which is to be mixed with a solvent to form a medical solution, such as a dialysis solution. The package (1) comprises a filled cavity portion (6a) containing the powdery material (2), optionally separated into groups of different composition, and a tab portion (9) integrally formed with the filled cavity portion (6a) and being swept around the filled cavity portion (6a) so as to define a roll-up package. The tab portion (9) forms a protective barrier that shields the powdery material (2), e.g. by counteracting transport of moisture into and out of the package. The tab portion (9) may also stabilize the package. The roll-up package is compact, and simple to manufacture and handle.

  • Patent number: 9161980
Abstract: The present invention relates to a medical solution, a method for producing said medical solution, a multi-compartment bag containing the medical solution as well as use of said medical solution. According to the invention the medical solution comprises a first single solution comprising bicarbonate and carbonate in such proportions that the partial pressure of carbon dioxide, CO2, in the first single solution is of the same order of magnitude as the partial pressure of carbon dioxide, CO2, of the atmosphere. The medical solution further comprises a second single solution comprising an acid. Said first and second single solutions are, after terminal sterilization and up on use, to be mixed to form a final solution. Said second single solution has a pH of 1.0-1.5, and said final solution has a pH of 7.0-7.6.

  • Patent number: 9138380
Abstract: A package has a transport/storage state for storing powdery material which is to be mixed with a solvent to form a medical solution. The package includes a compartment which is at least partially defined by two opposing wall portions, and a connector. In the transport/storage state, the compartment contains the powdery material in the form of at least two distinct sets of powdery material of different compositions, where the opposing wall portions are brought into engagement with the powdery material so as to immobilize the sets of powdery material. When used for preparation of the medical solution, a fluid is selectively admitted into the package via the connector so as to expand the compartment and enable mixing of the sets of powdery material with the solvent in the compartment.

  • Publication number: 20090139930
Abstract: An apparatus (100) for extracorporeal blood cleaning includes a separation unit (110), at least two processing branches (120; 130) and a mixing unit (140). The separation unit (110) receives 5 incoming blood (B A) and divides off a first fraction (fC) from this blood. The first fraction (fC) contains predominantly blood cells. The separation unit (110) also divides off at least one second fraction (fP), which contains predominantly blood plasma. A first processing branch (120) processes the first fraction (fC) according to a first cleaning process, in which cell-bound substances are removed from the blood cells. As a result, a first cleaned fraction (fC c) containing washed blood cells is produced. A second processing branch (130) processes the second fraction (fP) according to a second cleaning process in which toxins bound on proteins within the plasma and/or toxins dissolved in 15 the plasma are removed, and a second cleaned fraction (fP c) is produced.
