  • Patent number: 9077064
Abstract: According to one or more embodiments, a directional filter assembly (10) comprises a multi-port filter circuit (12) for combining or separating signals in specified pass-bands and an isolated port (20) having a resistive load (22), for absorbing out-of-band signals. The assembly further includes a reflective protection device (24) configured to protect the resistive load (22) from being overpowered by out-of-band signal power, based on being configured to reflect or not reflect the out-of-band signals in dependence on the level of out-of-band signal power. In at least one embodiment, the directional filter assembly is configured as a microwave transmission assembly, such as is used for combining signals from two or more base stations, for transmission from a common antennae assembly.

  • Patent number: 8130161
Abstract: An antenna control system in which various antenna elements in a vertical row are coupled by fixed transmission lines to a central feeding point for a common signal. Adjustment of the phase of the common signal is achieved by means of a linearly movable slide having dielectric body portions influencing the signal velocity along said fixed transmission lines. Further, an electrical motor is used for linearly displacing said movable slide with said dielectric body portions.

  • Publication number: 20010030585
Abstract: A method for characterizing a frequency response of a tunable filter (11) includes the steps of adjusting a tuning means (12) to a first predetermined position; measuring the resonance frequency of the filter (10); temporary storing the measured resonance frequency and the position; and repeating these steps for a number of different predetermined positions of the tuning means. A mathematical function representing tuning means position as a function of resonance frequency is then determined, whereby several advantages are achieved. Little memory is required and the function provides for rapid and accurate tuning of the filter.
