Patent number: 9268742Abstract: The invention addresses the problem of parameter optimization for best filter performance and, in particular, the influence from the requirements on radio or fiber to radio repeaters utilizing those filters, that often proves to be conflicting for an FIR filter. The FIR filters are implemented in a programmable circuit and are not thereby restricted for use in communication repeaters although this particular usage may put the most serious restrictions on the filter performance. Within the imposed constraints, this disclosure illustrates a method to strike a middle ground while minimizing the trade-offs. The advantage of the concept presented allows the choice of a suitable filter pertaining to a particular traffic configuration, meaning a particular choice of individually filtered frequency bands set at different gain and intended to support a diversity of traffic formats. The disclosed approach banks on the reconfigurable variable length FIR filter architectures.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2013Date of Patent: February 23, 2016Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Manasi Jogdand, Surya Bhamidipati, Jatin Uppal, Torbjorn Olsson

Patent number: 6657174Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of increasing the range of air defense and artillery shells of the type which for reasons of firing technology have a rear surface which is at right angles to the shell axis, i.e. most conventional air defense and artillery shells. The invention also includes a design of air defense and artillery shells that corresponds with the said method. The invention is characterized by the rear surface of the shell which at the time of firing is at right angles to the shell axis being reformed to an aerodynamically more advantageous form (5, 9) when it has left the gun barrel and is on the way to the target.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2002Date of Patent: December 2, 2003Assignee: Bofors Defence ABInventor: Torbjörn Olsson

Patent number: 6429739Abstract: A power amplifier has a feedback loop to control the signal level thereof. A current sensing amplifier in the feedback loop is controlled to remove any offset. The input signal is compared with a reference level. When the input signal is below the reference level, an offset compensation value for the current sensing amplifier is stored. When the input signal is above the reference level, the previously stored offset compensation value continues to be applied. The circuit is of particular application in a TDMA radio transmitter.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2000Date of Patent: August 6, 2002Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventor: Torbjörn Olsson

Patent number: 6011385Abstract: A device for controlling a current to a load by means of mirroring is described. Two transistor units are connected to a common reference point. By driving a current through one of the transistor units, a corresponding current is generated in the second transistor unit. A control unit, connected between the transistors can regulate a voltage difference between transistors. Accordingly, the size of the load attached is determined through mirroring with accuracy and minimal power loss.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 1998Date of Patent: January 4, 2000Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventors: Per-Olof Brandt, Leif Lingstrom, Torbjorn Olsson
