  • Patent number: 11724349
Abstract: A tool assembly is arranged for simultaneous treatment of both sides of the edge of a knife. The tool assembly comprises a tool in the form of a stave having faces extending longitudinally between first and second ends of the stave. A holder is provided in which the stave is journaled pivotally within a restricted pivot angle range (?) defined by a pivot limit function accomplished through interaction between the holder and the stave. A pivot journal means, for example, in the form of a pivot pin and a pinhole, is arranged for journaling the stave pivotally about a center axis of the stave.

  • Publication number: 20230249307
Abstract: An apparatus for the treatment of cutting edges includes a first and second tools each having treatment surfaces. The treatment surfaces are arranged to define a V-shaped groove for receiving a cutting tool to be sharpened. The tools are driven by a main shaft and are connected to the main shaft via eccentric bodies rotationally fixed on the main shaft, connecting rods attached to the eccentric bodies, and auxiliary shafts connecting the connecting rods to the first and second tools. A power unit is configured to rotate the main shaft, wherein rotation of the main shaft causes the first and second tools to reciprocate up and down relative to the main shaft.

Abstract: A grinding- and polishing tool in combination, comprising a stave which has an edge-treatment side comprising a primary treatment area covering a part of its length, and which in the length direction of the stave is followed by an adjoining secondary treatment area covering another part of the length of the stave. The treatment areas are oriented at intersecting planes such that an intermediate angle between adjoining primary and secondary treatment areas is other than 180°. Also disclosed are a tool assembly, an attachment for a food slicer machine, and a method, all of which are unique implementations of the combined grinding- and polishing tool.
