  • Publication number: 20180066490
Abstract: A method and system for transmitting signals from a distributed acoustic sensor, DAS, into a well through at least one pin penetrator running from a downhole side to a top side of a subsea wellhead, and without degrading quality of the signals. The method includes: connecting a first assistant recording package, ARP, between the DAS and the at least one pin penetrator on a downhole side of the wellhead; connecting a second ARP between a data acquisition system and the at least one pin penetrator on the topside of the well head; converting DAS signals to electrical signals by the first ARP and performing signal conditioning; transmitting signals received from the DAS sensors, from the first ARP and through the wellhead to the second ARP. The system implements the method.

  • Patent number: 6543537
Abstract: A method for producing an oil reservoir, comprising establishing an oil producing well, producing a production fluid containing oil and water, transporting the production fluid to a downhole liquid/liquid hydrocyclone, separating the fluid in the liquid/liquid hydrocyclone into an oil enriched stream at the hydrocyclone underflow, transporting the oil enriched stream to the surface, reinjecting the water enriched stream at a downhole site, cooling the transported oil enriched stream by sending a counterflow of a cooling medium relative the oil enriched stream, thereby keeping the oil enriched stream in a substantially liquid phase.

  • Patent number: 6132494
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for separating oil/water/gas from a marginal field by using a combination of a coarse separator with short treatment duration which separates into three flows where one obtains an oil concentration of over 70%, a water concentration of over 70% and a gas quality for burning off, where the oil and water flows are treated in cyclone systems having defined geometric proportions and a gas portion is reinjected into the water injection flows without the use of a compressor. Gas/liquid cyclones may also be used before the choke valve so that the gas pressure is kept, or optionally reinjected or used for injector pump operation of low pressure wells.

  • Patent number: 5860476
Abstract: Hydrocarbons are recovered from a sub-surface reservoir whereby a production flow is subjected to a separation process in the well hole. Gas and liquid are separated from each other using a cyclone separator, and condensate/oil is separated from water at high pressure in a subsequent cyclone separation. Membranes are used to separate unwanted gases, includeing H.sub.2 S, CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2 O, using membranes under high pressure in the well hole.

  • Patent number: 5711374
Abstract: The invention describes the separation of oil and water in a production flow from a hydrocarbon reservoir, said separation being carried out by the use of one cyclone or a plurality of cyclones positioned downhole. The produced water is reinjected into the reservoir itself or into a formation zone lying above or below the reservoir.
