  • Publication number: 20230089957
Abstract: A display device includes a voltage source that provides a voltage and a current source that provides a current. The display device also includes light emitting diodes (LEDs) that emit light to display an image on the display device. Additionally, the display device includes pixel driving circuitry that drives the LEDs using the voltage or the current. In particular, the pixel driving circuitry provides the LEDs with the voltage from the voltage source for a first period of time to enable the LEDs to reach an illumination threshold. Moreover, the pixel driving circuitry, after providing the voltage from the voltage source for the first period of time, drives the LEDs using the current from the current source to cause the LEDs to emit light substantially uninterrupted when changing between providing the voltage from the voltage source to driving the one or more LEDs using the current source.

Abstract: A display system of a display includes a first light emitting diode, a second light emitting diode, a current source, and at least one transistor. The first and the second light emitting diodes emit light. The current source provides a constant current to the first light emitting diode and the second light emitting diode. Moreover, the at least one transistor removes the current or shunts the current towards the first light emitting diode, the second light emitting diode, or both. Removing the current or shunting the current towards the first light emitting diode, the second light emitting diode, or both, may blend outputs of the first light emitting diode and the second light emitting diode.

  • Patent number: 10923016
Abstract: A display device may include pixels that display image data. The display device may also include a circuit that receives pixel data having a gray level for at least one pixel, such that the pixel data corresponds to a frame of the image data and the frame includes sub-frames. The pixel data causes the circuit to provide at least one current pulse to the at least one pixel according to a first order of the sub-frames. The circuit may also receive a second order of the sub-frames, such that the second order is mapped with respect to the first order, and at least one current pulse is provided to the at least one pixel according to the second order. As such, visual artifacts depicted on the display are reduced.
