Abstract: An apparatus method and system are enable sending fluid to a receiver when a main line for the fluid in an umbilical is faulty. The apparatus has: first and second inlet lines and a first outlet line; A first inlet connector connects the main line for the fluid in the umbilical to the first inlet line and a second inlet connector connects a second line to the second inlet line; An outlet connects a receiver to the apparatus and has a first outlet connector connecting the receiver for the fluid; A switch mechanism for switches from a default setting wherein the first inlet line leads to the first outlet connector through the first outlet line to a secondary setting wherein the second inlet line leads to the first outlet connector through the first outlet line for enabling transferring the fluid through the second inlet line to the first outlet connector.

The method includes: retrofitting an upgrading module including at least a control unit, a hydraulic high-pressure pump, a second high-pressure hydraulic valve package, and a hydraulic reservoir onto or at the Christmas tree; supplying the high-pressure pump, directly or via the reservoir, with hydraulic fluid from a pipe in the umbilical, the high-pressure pump being connected to the second high-pressure hydraulic valve package; connecting the second high-pressure hydraulic valve package to a downhole safety valve; connecting the electrical power and control cables of the umbilical to the control unit; and connecting control cables between the control unit and valves in the low-pressure hydraulic valve package.
