Abstract: Described are various embodiments of a line-of-sight (LoS) sensor mounting system and method. In one such embodiment, a LoS sensor mounting system is described for operatively mounting a LoS receiver and LoS transmitter on a structure having opposed external walls, comprising a mounting plate and an alignment jig comprising a mounting plate engagement structure and an alignment barrel dimensioned. The alignment barrel is dimensioned to receive an aperture-forming tool operable therethrough along a LoS axis so to form a counterpart external wall LoS aperture within an opposed external wall.

Abstract: A cone filling apparatus for production of smoking articles includes: (a) a cone pallet including a plurality of cavities, each cavity for holding a respective cone; (b) a delivery chute having a load end for receiving a smokeable product from a source and an unload end downstream of the load end for unloading the smokeable product from the chute; and (c) a dosing tray disposed above the pallet. The dosing tray includes a plurality of transfer sleeves. Each sleeve has an upper sleeve end for receiving smokeable product unloaded from the unload end of the chute, and a lower sleeve end for dispensing the smokeable product into a cone held in a respective cavity aligned beneath the lower sleeve end.

Abstract: Many tools and other items include a shaft. A restraining device is disclosed for restraining such an item when the item is not in use. In one embodiment, the restraining device includes at least one of: (i) a thumb-receiving surface for receiving a force by a thumb to pivot an arm open; and (ii) a finger-receiving surface for receiving a force by at least one finger to pivot the arm open. The restraining device may be used in restraining a reaching device in a rural mail carrier's vehicle. An apparatus is therefore also disclosed that, in one embodiment, includes a supporting body securable to a vehicle seat. The supporting body supports a tray for holding mail. The restraining device is connected to the supporting body.

Abstract: A bag retention system and field configurable waste and recycling receptacle and receptacle systems that employ same. The bag retention system includes a peripheral side wall element having an upper portion defining an opening for receiving at least one bag, the peripheral side wall element having a bag opening and support member (e.g. an outwardly extending flange) about which an upper portion of a bag can be wrapped, and a tensioning element located below the flange and coupled to and extending outwardly from the side wall element, the tensioning element having means for releasably securing excess material from an upper portion of a bag, whereby a bag can be inserted in the opening with an upper portion thereof folded over and tightened around flange by pulling the upper portion of the bag taut around the flange and releasably securing the excess material to the tensioning element.
