  • Patent number: 11748655
Abstract: The subject technology receives, in an application on an electronic device, a message, the message being associated with a user and including information in a header portion of the message. The subject technology determines, on the electronic device, a current state of messaging activity of the user based at least in part on a log of previous events associated with the user, where the log of previous events includes information that has been hashed using a cryptographic hash function. The subject technology determines, on the electronic device using a set of rules provided by a machine learning model, that the user is likely to view the message based on the current state of the messaging activity of the user. The subject technology sets, on the electronic device, an indication that the message is important based on the determining.

  • Patent number: 11326900
Abstract: A positioning device for a machine tool includes a substrate upon which a printing medium is deposited. The substrate has a longitudinal dimension that is longer than the transverse direction of the substrate. The printing medium includes magnetic or magnetizable particles, and the substrate is nonmagnetic. A scale is formed by first regions of the printing medium on the substrate and by second regions without the printing medium between adjacent first regions. The first regions are spaced apart in the longitudinal direction on the substrate. The printing medium is printed within the first regions on the substrate such that the printing medium is thinner in the interior of the first regions and thicker at the edges of the first regions. The location of the positioning device is determined by applying a measuring magnetic field and by detecting a resulting magnetic field emanating from a particular first region on the scale.

  • Publication number: 20220023928
Abstract: A forming tool and a forming method for producing an overpressure predetermined breaking point in a battery cover by deformation. The forming tool has a stamping tool and a die tool and an optional hold-down arrangement. On the die tool a support surface is provided for the battery cover to be deformed to form a forming cavity in the die tool in a depressed manner. On the stamping tool a stamp part and a ring-shaped stamp part is provided corresponding to a bead to be created in the battery cover in the cross-section. During deformation of the battery cover the stamping tool is pressed in the battery cover, whereby material of the battery cover flows into the forming cavity. Thereby the stamping tool is approached to the forming cavity in a manner such that the remaining distance corresponds to a minimum wall thickness at the overpressure predetermined breaking point.

  • Patent number: 10664668
Abstract: Information is written onto the surface of an object using both an optically identifiable pattern and subregions that exhibit differing magnetic properties. The optically identifiable pattern is printed onto a printed region on the surface of the object using a printing medium that contains magnetic particles. The printed region includes both a first subregion that exhibits a first prevailing magnetization direction and a second subregion that exhibits a second prevailing magnetization direction. The first magnetization direction differs from the second magnetization direction. The first and second magnetization directions are imparted to the first and second subregions by magnetic fields being applied to the magnetic particles. An edge between the first subregion and the second subregion does not coincide with any boundary of the optically identifiable pattern. The printed region contains both optically encoded information and magnetically encoded information.

  • Publication number: 20190390978
Abstract: A position measuring device includes a first object with a scale band and a second object. Marker stripes extend in a transverse direction from one side of the scale band to the opposite side. A longitudinal axis divides the scale band into first and second paths. First and second marker sensors on the second object pass over the first and second paths as the second object slides longitudinally along the scale band. Each transition between marker stripes is a straight line oriented at an inclination angle relative to the transverse direction. As the second object moves over each transition, the inclination angle of that transition is determined based on how the first and second marker sensors detect the transition over the first and second paths. The measuring device then determines that the second object is located at a particular transition based on the determined inclination angle associated with that transition.
