  • Publication number: 20240053728
Abstract: A field device for a process plant, may include a power distributing data switch having an electrical primary connection to consume power at a first power level higher than 10W, and at least two electrical secondary connections for combined data communication and power transfer at a second power level of lower than 10W per secondary connection. The field device may also include a housing to accommodate electrical components safe from dust and/or water, which forms a first housing compartment fitted for pressure proof enclosure of electrical components in an environment with explosive or flammable atmosphere and which accommodates the primary connection. The secondary connections may be arranged outside a pressure proof enclosure and outside the first housing compartment. The device may include a protective bridge to isolate leads out of the first housing compartment to connect the primary connection to the secondary connections.

  • Publication number: 20230261611
Abstract: A photovoltaic module includes at least two cell assemblies externally contactable at connecting contacts, which are arranged linearly at the rear side of the photovoltaic module in groups of two connecting contacts which are allocated to the cell assemblies. One connection socket is arranged on a rear side of the photovoltaic module, this connection socket having a housing which has at least one rear opening for passing the connecting contact through, wherein the housing covers all connecting contacts of the photovoltaic module. In a connection socket for such a photovoltaic module, the housing has an elongated shape, wherein all connecting contacts are arranged in a line along a longitudinal direction of the housing.

  • Patent number: 8831393
Abstract: Unmanned underwater vehicles (1) which can be controlled from a carrier platform (2) by an optical waveguide cable (3) can be used for widely differing missions. For mine countermeasures, the loss of the underwater vehicle (1) is often accepted, with the optical waveguide cable (3) also being destroyed by the explosion. To reduce the costs of a mission of the underwater vehicle, the invention provides for the optical waveguide cable (3) to be connected to the underwater vehicle (1) via a connecting device (4). The connecting device (4) comprises a connecting cable (8) and connecting elements (11, 12) at the ends (9, 10) of the connecting cable (8) for an optical waveguide cable (3) at one end and for an unmanned underwater vehicle (1) at the other end.

  • Publication number: 20140107862
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for operating an unmanned underwater vehicle, wherein the underwater vehicle has determining means which determine a usability indicator. A use recommendation for the use of the underwater vehicle in a future mission can be derived or is derived from this usability indicator. The determination of the usability indicator takes place as a function of at least one operating parameter of the underwater vehicle. A decision aid relating to the suitability of the underwater vehicle for a respective purpose of use can be made available for an underwater vehicle, which can be used for different purposes by means of the invention. In addition, the invention relates to an underwater vehicle which has at least the determining means and/or storage means for storing a usability indicator which is determined by means of the device according to the invention.
