  • Patent number: 6696919
Abstract: When a PIN need to use a protected device is manually entered for the time, it is encoded by means of unique identity number and stored in a PIN memory, the number is also used for the array in which or in connection with the device operates. If the user later identifies himself with an identity number which authorizes a subsequent use of the array, the encoded PIN stored in the PIN memory is decoded by means of the identity number and is made available to the device. Special advantages result when the environment is a vehicle and the device is a mobile telephone, since the network log-in takes place at the same time the vehicle is started with an authorized key.

Abstract: A portable radiophone which is adapted to communicate via a cellular network and at least one cordless network, and which comprises a controller unit which controls the communication with said cellular network and said at least one cordless network, and which registers which networks are connected. When a call is to be established, a storage receives a phone number, and the controller unit checks whether the phone number in the storage contains a main number corresponding to the main number of said at least one cordless network. If so, the controller unit determines the extension number of the cordless network for use in the call on the basis of the stored phone number.
