  • Publication number: 20240127606
Abstract: A system and method for determining if an occupant of a vehicle has correctly applied a seat belt by acquiring an image of the occupant, the image including at least a shoulder portion of the occupant, identifying left and right shoulders and a longitudinal extension of a seat belt in the image, determining an intersection between the longitudinal extension and a line connecting the left and right shoulders, and, based on a relative position of the intersection and the shoulders, deducing whether the seat belt is correctly applied.

  • Patent number: 8547842
Abstract: In a method and a device for controlling the output power in a Base Transceiver Station adapted to transmit signals over an air interface using a power amplifier for multiple earners, the power of signals to be transmitted in an upcoming transmission time slot are added and compared to at least one threshold value. If the threshold is exceeded the output power is reduced. By implementing a power reduction scheme as set out above the risk for peak power effects is minimized at the same time as the dimensioning may be aggressive. This is made possible because no power will be backed off unless really needed.

  • Patent number: 6163694
Abstract: In an effort to have a mobile station choose a lowest level cell to lock onto, a method and apparatus for standby state cell selection in a layered cellular telephone system is proposed. Upon entering a standby state, the mobile station is provided with parameters containing a value for a minimum threshold downlink signal strength level and information pertaining to hierarchical levels associated with a plurality of cells within the cellular telephone system. The mobile station measures downlink signal strengths of a plurality of radio frequencies transmitted by the plurality of cells and selects a cell having a lowest level in the hierarchy of cells which transmits a radio frequency having a greatest downlink signal strength, the downlink signal further having a signal strength above the minimum threshold level.

  • Patent number: 5985219
Abstract: A unitary test tube holder insert adapted for receiving test tubes. The insert has a first ring to be secured in a hole of a test tube rack. A plurality of spring members extend at one end from the first ring towards a center axis of the ring to resiliently engage the outside of a test tube inserted into the insert. The spring members are connected at their other end to a second ring which is arranged coaxially with the first ring along the center access, and each spring member is curved towards the center axis to exhibit a straight section which extends parallel to the center axis and which resiliently engages the outside of a test tube inserted into the insert.
