  • Patent number: 9063231
Abstract: A device for imaging an object by electromagnetic high frequency radiation including at least one detector for electromagnetic high frequency radiation and at least one imaging device for generating a focus. To provide a device for and a method of imaging an object by electromagnetic high frequency radiation, which makes it possible to detect even a rapidly moving object with a high level of resolution, it is proposed that the device has at least one controllable element for changing the beam direction, which is so adapted that the focus of the imaging device is movable.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 27, 2009
Date of Patent: June 23, 2015
    Assignee: Hubner GmbH
    Inventor: Torsten Löffler
  • Patent number: 8350240
Abstract: The present invention concerns a device for generating and detecting coherent electromagnetic radiation (8) in the THz frequency range, comprising an optically parametric oscillator (2) for generating electromagnetic radiation in the THz frequency range (8). To provide a device for generating and detecting electromagnetic radiation in the THz frequency range it is proposed in accordance with the invention that it has a coherent phase-sensitive detector (3, 21) for detecting intensity and phase of the electromagnetic radiation (8) generated by the optically parametric oscillator (2).

  • Publication number: 20110043403
Abstract: The present invention concerns an apparatus for and a method of imaging an object by means of electromagnetic very high frequency radiation. The state of the art discloses systems for and methods of imaging with a synthetic aperture, which distinguish the signals emitted by individual transmitting antennas from each other after reflection thereof by an object upon reception on a plurality of receivers. In that respect systems are known which for that purpose use a row-like arrangement of transmitters and receivers, wherein an object is rotated on a motor-driven platform in front of the transmitter or receiver row. In comparison the object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus for and a method of imaging an object, which make it possible to achieve as high a resolution as possible with as low a number of transmitters and receivers as possible.
