Abstract: A method of producing a processed soybean is provided, in which soybean can be decomposed into soybean single cells in a shorter treatment time than before. This method includes the step of performing an enzyme treatment to the soybean in the presence of water by use of, as the enzyme, at least one of cellulase and hemicellulase, and preferably the hemicellulase produced by Trichoderma sp., thereby decomposing the soybean into individual soybean single cells. By this enzyme treatment, it is possible to reduce the production cost, and improve the safety of quality of the processed soybean.

Abstract: A method of processing soybean by use of an enzyme is provided. After the soybean is soaked in water, it is steamed. The steamed soybean is cooled, and then water and a pectinase produced by microorganisms of the genus Bacillus are added to the soybean to prepare a first mixture. The first mixture is held for a predetermined time period while being agitated to accomplish an enzyme treatment, so that a slurry is obtained, in which single cells of the soybean are dispersed. After the enzyme treatment, the pectinase is inactivated. Next, the slurry is mixed with a powder obtained by processing a pulse other than the soybean to obtain a second mixture. The second mixture is dried by flash drying or spray drying operation to obtain a processed soybean powder. By omitting the steps performed after the step of inactivating the pectinase, it is possible to obtain a processed soybean liquid, in which the single cells of the soybean are dispersed.

Abstract: The time required to perform communications between an entertainment apparatus and a manual controller having complex and sophisticated functions which is connected to the entertainment apparatus is reduced. A type of control data to be outputted from a manual controller when control units including direction keys are operated is defined (limited) according to an application program that is recorded in an optical disk and read by the entertainment apparatus. The manual controller has a setting register for setting such a type of control data. After a type of control data is defined in the setting register of the manual controller from the entertainment apparatus, a CPU of the manual controller transmits only control data of the type set in the setting register for each frame of image. By thus limiting types of control data to be transmitted, the time required to perform communications between the entertainment apparatus and the manual controller is shortened.
