  • Patent number: 7772461
Abstract: It is to provide a novel molybdenum ion transporter MoTR1 gene responsible for molybdenum transport for the first time in plants, enabling to promote effectively molybdenum absorption from the environment or molybdenum transport in vivo. By QTL analysis of Arabidopsis thaliana accessions Col-0 and Ler, it was found that QTL which dominates Mo concentration in leaves was present on the chromosome No: 2. In the present invention, the region in which the causal gene is present was limited to 172 kb, by a genetic analysis. In the region, the gene At2g25680 having a domain common to sulfate ion transporter, while its function is not revealed was present. Thus, knockout strains of 2 separate lines in which a foreign gene fragment (T-DNA) was introduced at At2g25680 were obtained, Mo concentration in leaves was measured, and MoTR1 gene was identified.

  • Patent number: 7666678
Abstract: The present invention provides genes and proteins having possibilities to generate plants having tolerance against excessive boron, which can confer a boric acid tolerance to organisms. 5 types of genes that can confer a boric acid tolerance to yeast, such as AtPAB2, AtRBP47c?, AtRPS20B, AtMYB13 and AtMYB68, AtRBP45a, AtRBP45b, AtRBP45c, AtRBP45d, AtRBP47a, AtRBP47b, AtRBP47c, AtUBP1a, AtUBP1b and AtUBP1c which were found by expressing several genes of higher plant Arabidopsis thaliana in yeast that is a organism model of eukaryote. Further, a key to the toxicity mechanism of boric acid exists in the specific inhibition of splicing, and a gene related to enhancement of splicing efficiency also confers a boric acid tolerance.

  • Patent number: 7394340
Abstract: An electromagnetic device and a high-voltage generating device which are thin and improved in the characteristics are provided in which a magnetic core is made of a cylindrical form of a ferrite material having a higher intrinsic resistance. A winding is provided by winding a flat rectangular wire conductor in an edge-wise winding form directly on substantially the entire length of the magnetic core. As any insulator such as a coil bobbin is not needed between the flat rectangular wire conductor and the magnetic core, the winding can be decreased in the overall size or thickness thus contributing to the dimensional reduction of the electromagnetic device. Also, as its flat rectangular wire conductor is wound directly on the magnetic core, the winding can be minimized in the length and thus the overall resistance. Moreover, as there is no gap between the winding and the magnetic core, the self-inductance can be reduced while the size and the number of turns of the winding remain unchanged.

  • Patent number: 7392463
Abstract: An apparatus for reproducing data includes a branch metric computation unit and a plurality of parallel computation units. Each parallel computation unit includes path metric computation units that compute path metric values based on branch metric values. Path metric memories store the path metric values to be used in a next following path metric computation, and reliability computation units compute path reliability. Modified-path generating units generate an inverted path that is inverse to a path indicated by an output of the reliability computation units as having low reliability. If any one of the modified-path generating units generates the inverted path, a corresponding one of the path metric computation units stores a path metric value corresponding to the inverted path in a corresponding one of the path metric memories as a path metric value to be used in a next following path metric computation.
