Patent number: 8190047Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprises a fixing part for fixing a toner image on a transfer material to the transfer material, a conveying part provided on the downstream side of the fixing part, a correcting member provided in a conveyance path leading from the fixing part to the conveying part, for correcting a curl of the transfer material, and a control part for controlling an upstream-side conveyance speed which is a conveyance speed at which the fixing part provided on the upstream side of the correcting member conveys the transfer material and a downstream-side conveyance speed which is a conveyance speed at which the conveying part provided on the downstream side of the correcting member conveys the transfer material. In printing of a first surface in a double-sided printing mode, the control part sets the downstream-side conveyance speed to be larger than the upstream-side conveyance speed.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2010Date of Patent: May 29, 2012Assignee: Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Hideo Isohara, Toru Hiramatsu, Akio Kasuga

Publication number: 20100327521Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a sheet feeding structure for feeding a sheet fed out by a feed-out roller to a pair of resist rollers via a pair of feed rollers, wherein after a leading edge of the sheet comes to the pair of resist rollers, the sheet temporarily curves in a sheet path, between guide members disposed to face to both sides of the sheet. One of the guide members that is disposed downstream from the pair of feed rollers has a convex and a concave. The convex protrudes almost to the normal of the nip portion of the pair of feed rollers. The concave is disposed upstream from the convex with respect to the sheet feeding direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2010Publication date: December 30, 2010Applicant: Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Toru HIRAMATSU

Patent number: 5348802Abstract: Disclosed is a carbon fiber made from an acrylic fiber, the carbon crystal of which has a crystal size Lc of 15 to 65 .ANG. as determined by the wide angle X-ray diffractometry. This carbon fiber has regions with a lower crystallinity in the surface layer portion thereof than that of the central portion thereof, and the compressive strength .sigma..sub.cf (GPa) of the single filament thereof determined by the loop method satisfies formula (I):.sigma..sub.cf .gtoreq.10.78-0.1176.times. Lc (I).The carbon fiber is produced by ionizing in vacuo an atom or molecule which is solid or gaseous at normal temperature, accelerating the ionized atom or molecule by an electric field, and implanting the accelerated ionized atom or molecule in a bundle of carbon fibers.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1992Date of Patent: September 20, 1994Assignees: Toray Industries, Inc., Toray Research Center, Inc.Inventors: Yoji Matsuhisa, Toru Hiramatsu, Kazuo Yoshida, Gen Katagiri

Patent number: 5111759Abstract: An apparatus for picking up and feeding, one by one, workpieces which are stacked in a guide, such as shirt cuffs or the like having an inconsistent thickness. A pair of delivery rollers is rotated so as to slacken the lowermost workpiece so that the latter is readily drawn from the guide by a pickup means for supply to an automatic sewing station.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1990Date of Patent: May 12, 1992Assignee: Juki CorporationInventors: Toru Hiramatsu, Akiyoshi Urano

Patent number: 4349523Abstract: Disclosed is a carbon fiber of improved oxidation resistance, which has a specific volume resistance of at least about 1.2.times.10.sup.-3 ohm cm, and containing at least about 2 wt. % of nitrogen and less than about 0.07 wt. % of total metal impurities. The carbon fiber is produced by using as the precursor fiber an acrylonitrile copolymer fiber, which copolymer is comprised of at least 95 mole % of units derived from acrylonitrile and not more than 5 mole % of units derived from a carboxyl group containing monoethylenically unsaturated monomer or monomers; the hydrogen atom of at least one --COOH contained in each of the units derived from the carboxyl group-containing monomer or monomers being replaced with a cation selected from ##STR1## wherein R is H, (C1-3) alkyl or phenyl; the replacement being to such an extent that the units having the cation occupy at least 0.1 mole %, based on the copolymer; and which copolymer contains less than about 0.05 wt. % of the total metal impurities.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1981Date of Patent: September 14, 1982Assignee: Toray Industries, Inc.Inventors: Toru Hiramatsu, Teruo Koseki, Satosi Hamada, Atsushi Sumida

Patent number: 4237109Abstract: Provided is a process for producing a carbon fabric composed of carbon fibers having improved tensile strength and modulus of elasticity from a precursor fabric made of an acrylonitrile polymer fiber. The acrylonitrile polymer fiber used has a fusing temperature of at least 310.degree. C., contains not more than 0.1 wt. % of a residual solvent, and is prepared by a process wherein an acrylonitrile polymer comprised of at least 94 wt. % of acrylonitrile and not more than 6 wt. % of another comonomer and having an intrinsic viscosity of 1.4-2.3 is spun into filaments and then the filaments are stretched at a total stretching ratio of at least 6. The fiber of the fabric woven therefrom is treated with a transition metal-containing compound. The precursor fabric exhibits a free areal shrinkage of not more than 50% and has a weight per unit area falling within the specified range. The precursor fabric is heated in an oxidizing gas atmosphere at 200.degree.-400.degree.
