  • Patent number: 9021913
Abstract: In a shift by wire transmission, a control unit limits the shift position (P, R, N, D, L) to be changed beyond a prescribed shift position depending on an initial shift position and an amount of the movement of the shift member in a single shifting operation. Thereby, even when the shift member is excessively advanced or otherwise improperly advanced, the actually selected shift position can be suitably selected so that an undesired change of the shift position can be avoided. The control unit may also limit the selected shift position to be changed beyond a prescribed shift position depending on a traveling speed of the vehicle so that an improper change in the shift position due to vehicle speed constraints can be avoided by using a simple structure.

  • Patent number: 9003915
Abstract: Regardless of the shift range of the ‘current shift stage’ while the shift lever is at the home position, the shift range is necessarily shifted to N range if the operator presses the first button. Thus, the operator can shift the shift range from N range to R range or D range (N?R, N?D) if, while maintaining the pressed state of the first button, the operator moves the shift lever from the home position, which is at the center of the three shift positions, to A position or B position corresponding to indication R or indication D.

  • Patent number: 9002553
Abstract: Upon starting an internal combustion engine for a hybrid vehicle, when the motor revolution speed, transmitted to an engagement device, is equal to or lower than the idle revolution speed of the internal combustion engine, if an engagement ratio is less than 1, the lower the engagement ratio is, the larger the engagement capacity is set, and if the engagement ratio is 1 or more, the engagement capacity is set to 0, wherein the engagement ratio is defined by a ratio of the internal combustion engine revolution speed with respect to the motor revolution speed. When the motor revolution speed is greater than the idle revolution speed, if an idle revolution ratio is less than 1, the lower the idle revolution ratio is, the larger the engagement capacity is set, and if the idle revolution ratio is 1 or more, the engagement capacity is set to 0.

  • Patent number: 7278939
Abstract: A power transmission comprises a belt type continuously variable ratio-change mechanism CVT and a fixed ratio rotational transmission mechanism GT, which transmit the rotational driving force of a primary shaft 1 rotationally driven by an engine to a countershaft 3 with a speed ratio change. The continuously variable ratio-change mechanism comprises a drive pulley 10, a driven pulley 15 and a metal belt 14 while the fixed ratio rotational transmission mechanism GT comprises a forward drive gear train, a forward output transmission gear train, and a reverse drive gear train. The forward drive gear train transmits the rotation of an input drive gear 31 on the primary shaft 1 through an idler gear 32 to a LOW driven gear 33 on a secondary shaft 2, and the forward output transmission gear train transmits the rotation of the secondary shaft 2 to the countershaft 3.
