  • Publication number: 20090185145
Abstract: A projector includes: a projection position adjusting device that adjusts a projection position of a projection optical device. The projection position adjusting device includes: adjusting and driving units that move a first moving plate and a second moving plate. The adjusting and driving unit include: a pair of worms that have a columnar shape and have threads on outer circumferences thereof; and a pair of sliders that are screwed in the pair of worms, respectively. The pair of worms are disposed to extend along the first direction or the second direction. One of the sliders engages with one of moving plates. Engaging structures including inclining engaging holes that extend in a direction crossing the direction in the plane orthogonal to the projecting direction and engaging projections inserted through the inclining engaging holes are provided in the other slider and the other moving plate.

  • Patent number: 7556413
Abstract: An illumination device includes a light source that emits light-source light, a light recovery member that is disposed close to the light source in the vicinity of a lateral side of the light source, and has a light receiving surface inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to an optical axis extending from the light source to the front to face the optical axis or the vicinity of the optical axis, and a rod integrator that uniformizes light-source light from the light source and light-source light reflected by the light recovery member.

  • Patent number: 7481538
Abstract: An illuminator includes a polarization converter that converts source light into first polarized light, a polarization separation member that separates the first polarized light of from the polarization converter and second polarized light different from the first polarized light, by reflection and transmission, a polarization switch member that reflects the first polarized light passed through the polarization separation member and changes same into the second polarized light, and a light guide having a first rod arranged between the polarization converter and the polarization separation member, a second rod arranged between the polarization separation member and the polarization switch member, and a third rod arranged on an optical path of the second polarized light separated by the polarization separation member.

  • Publication number: 20060285080
Abstract: A projector includes: a light-modulation device for modulating an illumination light according to a piece of image information; a projection optical system for protecting a modulated light resulting from the modulation by the light-modulation device as an image on a screen; a movable holder capable of holding the light-modulation device in a condition where the light-modulation device is tilted with respect to an optical axis; and a control-processing device which corrects a projected image formed in the light-modulation device based on a distance from the projection optical system to the screen and a tilt angle of the light-modulation device thereby to correct a trapezoidal distortion of an image projected on the screen when the light-modulation device is arranged in relation to the projection optical system and the screen so that a requirement of Scheimpflug rule is satisfied.
