  • Patent number: 6993269
Abstract: In an image processing section, a foam toner signal generator generates a foam toner signal corresponding to a foam toner amount to be transferred to a three-dimensional print designation region discriminated at a three-dimensional print region discriminator, and a foam toner interpolation signal generator generates a foam toner interpolation signal corresponding to a foam toner amount to be transferred to an image region equal to or greater than a constant area in an ordinary print region discriminated at the three-dimensional print region discriminator. Foam toner of a predetermined amount corresponding to the foam toner signal is transferred to the three-dimensional print region, and foam toner of an amount that is less (of a lower height) than the predetermined amount and corresponds to the foam toner interpolation signal is transferred to the ordinary print region.

  • Patent number: 6708012
Abstract: An image forming apparatus that forms a raised print image by successively transferring foaming toner and non-foaming toner onto a recording medium in correspondence to print image information and heat-fixing onto the recording medium the foaming toner and the non-foaming toner that have been transferred onto the recording medium. The image forming apparatus includes an image processing section that image-processes the print image information so that transfer of an image resulting from the foaming toner is selectively prohibited in correspondence to a line width or size of an image to be transferred by the non-foaming toner onto the foaming toner.

  • Patent number: 6577826
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, in accordance with formation of paper, there are controlled parameters; that is, a color conversion parameter pertaining to a color conversion section 23 of a drawing section 22; a parameter pertaining to a correction curve of an TRC·&ggr; correction section 24 or a parameter pertaining to the number of screens or a growth pattern of a screen processing section 25 provided in a printer engine control section 12; parameters for use in adjusting electrification, exposure, and a voltage to be used during a developing operation, which are employed in a printer engine 13; a parameter for adjusting a voltage or current during a transfer operation; and a parameter for adjusting a fixing temperature or pressure. Parameters are controlled so as to reduce inconsistencies, which would otherwise arise in paper of poor formation. Thus, picture quality of an image is improved while inconsistencies are made less noticeable.

  • Patent number: 6091520
Abstract: A color image forming device produces a good image form, superior in color and gradation reproduction, and little over-enhancement in sharpness during generation duplicating. The device has an image processing parameter storage unit that stores parameters for processing which correspond to original document modes in respective processing blocks. An image processing parameter detector detects the original document mode, and provides the mode to the respective components as an original document mode directive TAG. When generation duplicating is designated, the generation duplicating mode corresponding to the set original document mode is set, and various parameter settings are indicated corresponding to the set generation duplicating mode in the image processing parameter storage unit. By such, the operation in each image processing module is converted to the set generation duplicating mode.
