  • Patent number: 8643073
Abstract: A plurality of pixels PX include effective pixels and optical black pixels. Signal lines VL are provided corresponding to each column of the pixels PX and supplied with output signals of the pixels PX of the corresponding column. Clip transistors CL are provided corresponding to the respective signal lines VL and limit a potential of the corresponding vertical signal lines VL based on a gate potential. At least in a predetermined operating mode, a potential Vclip_dark is supplied to a gate of one of the clip transistors CL corresponding to at least one pixel column formed of the optical black pixels when reading a noise level from the pixels PX corresponding to the clip transistors CL and when reading a data level from the pixels PX corresponding to the clip transistors CL.

  • Patent number: 7239720
Abstract: An optical monitoring system is capable of automatically identifying whether a moving body is a monitored subject based upon information in an optical (i.e., video) image. A moving body detection sub-system images a monitored region and detects a moving body from changes over time in the image of the monitored region. A speed detection sub-system detects the speed of a moving body in the image plane (i.e., speed of the moving body image in the image plane). A scale detection sub-system detects the size of a moving body in the image plane (i.e., size of the moving body in the image plane). A moving body estimation sub-system decides whether a moving body is the monitored subject (e.g., a human being) based on the image plane speed detected by the speed detection sub-system and the image plane size detected by the scale detection sub-system.

  • Patent number: 6623838
Abstract: Using a mold equipped with a rib-forming member capable of moving forward and backward relative to the mold cavity, produced is a lightweight, hollow resin molding having a reinforcing rib structure in the hollow area, from a fiber-containing thermoplastic resin having a fiber content of from 10 to 70% by weight. To produce the molding, a melt of a fiber-containing thermoplastic resin is injected into the mold cavity or is injected thereinto under compression, then the movable mold member is moved backward in the direction in which the mold cavity is expandable, and after the start of the mold member moving, a gas is introduced into the resin melt. Even though the molding has a hollow structure and has a large surface area, it has good stiffness and high strength, and has good appearances. The weight of the molding can be well controlled and reduced to any desired degree. The molding has many applications in various fields.

  • Patent number: 6488871
Abstract: A fiber-reinforced lightweight resin molded article with pores has a portion having a porosity lower than that of other general portions. Such a low-porosity portion serves as a rib in the resultant molded articles, to thereby enables to provide a fiber-reinforced lightweight resin molded article having excellent rigidity, bending strength, impact strength, uniformity of strength, resistance to local stress and torsion. The present invention also provides an efficient method for manufacturing the fiber-reinforced lightweight resin molded article.

  • Publication number: 20020015526
Abstract: The present apparatus initially shoots the object to generate a differential image signal. It processes row by row the differential image signal to detect a left-end edge and a right-end edge, and stores information about the end edges as a characteristic of a matter. The present apparatus preferably eliminates noise by expanding/contracting the detected end edges. The present apparatus also preferably obtains a calculation such as an area and position of a matter from the information about the end edges in order to judge occurrence of anomaly in the object based on the calculation. The processing described above is performed on two end edges per row on the screen. The amount of information to be processed is significantly reduced as compared with the cases where the processing is performed pixel by pixel, thereby realizing high-speed, simple processing.

  • Patent number: 5736733
Abstract: A photosensor circuit of the present invention comprises (i) a plurality of light receiving elements for detecting incident light; (ii) a plurality of output terminals for outputting photocurrents generated in the plurality of light receiving elements; (iii) a plurality of switches for selecting connection between the light receiving element and the output element in all combinations of the plurality of light receiving elements and the plurality of output terminals; and (iv) a shift register comprised of a plurality of nodes each controlling on/off of the plurality of switches. In this arrangement, when data of off or on is input into the plurality of nodes constituting the shift register, the switches corresponding to the nodes receiving the data of off are set to be off, and the switches corresponding to the nodes receiving the data of on are set to be on.
