Abstract: A grinding machine includes at least a turntable, rotary chuck tables for holding workpieces to be machined, a first grinding device for grinding the workpiece held on the chuck table and a second grinding device for grinding the first-ground workpiece held on the chuck table. The first grinding device comprises at least a first grinding wheel having pieces of grindstone set so as to define together a first grinding plane, and a first spindle fixed to the first grinding wheel. Likewise, the second grinding device comprises a second grinding wheel having pieces of grindstone set so as to define together a second grinding plane and a second spindle fixed to the second grinding wheel.

Abstract: Disclosed is an improvement in a grinding machine comprising at least a turn table, rotary chuck tables for holding work pieces to be machined, a first grinding means for grinding the work piece held on the chuck table and a second grinding means for grinding the first-ground work piece held on the chuck table. Abstract: A spherical body transport apparatus applicable in accepting a small spherical body, such as a spherical semiconductor, from a first spherical body treating device and feeding it to a second spherical body treating device. Such a spherical body transport apparatus includes a spherical body holding component having at least one spherical body accommodating component and designed to hold a spherical body temporarily, a spherical body carry-in component for carrying the spherical body into the spherical body accommodating component of the spherical body holding component, and a spherical body carry-out component for carrying the spherical body out of the spherical body accommodating component of the spherical body holding component.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for grinding spherical objects into an exact spherical shape. The sphere-reshaping apparatus comprises a grinding section equipped with means for grinding spherical objects, an inlet section equipped with means for feeding spherical objects to the grinding section and an outlet section equipped with means for taking out reshaped spherical objects from the grinding section. The inlet section, grinding section and outlet section communicate by transporting means. The transporting means comprises an endless carrier belt having a series of apertures made for accepting spherical objects and a drive for driving the endless carrier belt. In the grinding section an endless grinding belt runs parallel with the endless carrier belt in same or counter direction relative to the endless carrier belt at such a speed that causes spherical objects to rub on the grinding belt.
