Abstract: In a patch antenna including a dielectric having a top surface, a bottom surface, and a side surface, a radiation element formed on the top surface of the dielectric, and a ground conductor formed on the bottom surface of the dielectric, a ring-shaped non-feeding element is formed on the side surface of the dielectric. The non-feeding element preferably may be formed on the side surface of the dielectric in the vicinity of the top surface of the dielectric. In addition, the non-feeding element may be formed by pasting a copper tape or by thick film printing.

Abstract: An antenna unit includes an antenna module that receives radio waves sent from a satellite or earth, a cover member that has enough inner space to house the antenna module and has an opened bottom surface, and a bottom plate that closes the opened bottom surface of the cover member, and the antenna unit is attached to a resin-made attachment part. A metal sheet is provided on a back surface side of the resin-made attachment part, and the antenna unit is adhesive bonded and fixed on a surface side of the resin-made attachment part correspondingly to an arrangement position of the metal sheet.

Abstract: In addition to an FM reception antenna element for receiving an FM radio wave and an FM receiver connected to the FM reception antenna element, a mobile object is provided with a first antenna element for receiving a satellite signal, a signal processing unit connected to the first antenna, and a second antenna element connected to the signal processing unit. The signal processing unit processes the satellite signal into an FM signal. The second antenna element emits the FM signal as the FM radio wave that may be received in the FM reception antenna and processed by the FM receiver in the manner known in the art.

The lid is openable for taking the optical disc into and out from the optical disc drive. The antenna is mounted to the lid. An earth plate electrically connected to the antenna is mounted to the lid.

Abstract: A sorter is provided with a plurality of movable sorting trays and a movement control device for controlling the movement of the movable sorting trays. The control device includes a sensor for detecting that a part of a screw rod passes through an index point which is remote from a stop position by a predetermined distance, a sensor for detecting the rotation of the screw rod and outputting a predetermined number of pulses in accordance with a predetermined moving distance of the screw rod. The control device is constructed in such a manner that it sets a stop pulse number according to the predetermined distance, counts the pulses from when the sensor detects that the screw rod passes through the index point, stops the movement of the sorting trays when the stop pulse number is count up, and controls a timing of the stop of the sorting trays in accordance with a moving condition of the sorting trays.
