  • Patent number: 5202193
Abstract: A linear random N-substituted acrylamide copolymer comprising 65 to 99% by mole of ethylene units, 1 to 15% by mole of acrylate units and 1 to 35% by mole of acrylamide units, the copolymer having a weight average molecular weight of 1000 to 50000, and an aqueous composition, a resin film, a laminate, recording paper and a foamed article comprising the N-substituted acrylamide copolymer, respectively. The N-substituted acrylamide copolymer is excellent in antistatic ability for thermoplastic resins and does not lower physical properties such as transparency and elongation of films and articles which are formed from a thermoplastic resin. Moreover, the N-substituted acrylamide copolymer is excellent in anti-blocking ability so that the copolymer can be suitably used for various uses.

  • Patent number: 4933412
Abstract: This invention relates to a flame retardant for synthetic fiber substrates and a method of imparting flame resistance to such substrates using the flame retardant. The flame retardant of this invention comprises 75 to 95 weight parts of a hexabromocyclododecane compound having a melting point not less than 195.degree. C. and 25 to 5 weight parts of a hexabromocyclododecane compound having a melting point less than 160.degree. C., which hexabromocyclododecane compounds are available on bromination of trans-trans-cis-cyclododecatriene. This flame retardant imparts excellent flame resistance to synthetic fiber substrates. Moreover, when a synthetic fiber substrate is dyed using a dye bath containing this flame retardant and a dye, the soiling of the substrate and dyeing equipment is kept at the minimum.

  • Patent number: 4831098
Abstract: An antistatic agent containing a cationic and/or amphoteric, water-soluble or water-dispersible and heat-reactive blocked urethane prepolymer as an essential component, said prepolymer having at least one cationic group and/or at least one amphoteric group in its molecule and having isocyanate groups blocked with a thermally dissociable blocking agent. The antistatic agent is applicable to various materials and can give the antistatic property with the water repellency, which can be kept for a long term, to the materials.
