  • Publication number: 20030009667
Abstract: In a cellular phone, a controller stores content data and additional information obtained from a distribution server into a memory. When the content data is to be transmitted to a memory card, a random number key generation unit generates a license key. An encryption processing unit encrypts the content data using the license key. The controller transmits the encrypted content data to the memory card via a memory card interface. Then, the controller deletes only the content data stored in the memory. As a result, distribution of content data that must be deleted when the obtained content data is to be transmitted to another apparatus can be facilitated while protecting copyright thereof.

  • Publication number: 20020183985
Abstract: A cellular phone (100) stores encrypted content data and encrypted license key distributed thereto in a memory card (110). The cellular phone (100) and the memory card (110) collectively perform a part of mutual authentication processing upon power-on. The encrypted license key (Kc) read from the memory card (110) is decrypted by a first decryption processing portion (1510) with a session key (Ks4), and is further decrypted by a second decryption processing portion (1514) with a system symmetric key (Kcom) for extraction. A third encryption processing portion (1516) decrypts the encrypted content data read from memory card (110) with the license key (Kc) to reproduce content data (Data).

  • Publication number: 20020184513
Abstract: A memory card (110) decodes data delivered to a data bus (BS3) and extracts a session key (Ks1) sent from a server from the data. Based on the session key (Ks1), an encrypting section (1406) encrypts a public encryption key (KPm (1)) of the memory card (110) and delivers it to a server through the data bus (BS3). The memory card (110) receives data including a license key (Kc) and a license (ID) encrypted with the public encryption key (KPm (1)) different with memory card to memory card, decrypts the data, encrypted it again with uniquely given secret key (K(1)), and stores it in a memory (1415).

  • Publication number: 20020138442
Abstract: A personal computer obtains music data and identification information of the music data from a CD and transmits the identification information to a license management server on the Internet. The personal computer receives an encryption key and additional information of the music data from the license management server. The personal computer encodes the music data in an MP3 system to generate content data and encrypts the content data with an encryption key to generate encrypted content data, and uploads the encrypted content data to the personal computer together with the additional information. Thus, while copyright can be protected, encrypted content data can be generated and provided to a site allowing each user to obtain the same.

  • Patent number: 6327240
Abstract: An optical disc and an optical disc drive for the optical disc are provided which are suitable for recording data with a high density. The optical disc D uses both lands and grooves as recording tracks. Each of the tracks consists of one address segment and forty five data segments. The address segment is wobbled at one side thereof. Each of the data segments is a DC groove. The address segment records an address information including a sync signal, frame address, track address and CRC, a tilt pattern and a clock mark. The clock mark is adapted to reflect laser beam in one amount before the mark and in another amount after the mark. The tilt pattern has a different track pitch from those in other areas. The data segments record data magneto-optically.

  • Patent number: 6324138
Abstract: A meandering groove is formed in a digital disk (10) with a wobble signal that is wobbled to reproduce a clock signal. The wobble signal is read out by an optical head (26). An address detection circuit (40) detects an address signal that is multiplexed with the wobble signal. A PLL oscillation circuit (24) provides a clock signal in synchronization with the wobble signal. Data is modulated by a modulation circuit (16) according to the clock signal and a timing signal based on the address signal, and recorded on the digital disk (10). In reproduction, a RF signal in the wobble signal is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter (42). The signal is demodulated by a demodulation circuit (44) for data output.
