  • Patent number: 9177136
Abstract: An information device performs data processing by executing program codes loaded in a memory with a central control unit. The information device includes a detection unit which detects a timing when any one of the program codes is called, a return address acquisition unit which sequentially acquires return addresses of the program codes loaded in the memory at the timing detected by the detection unit, and a termination unit which searches for an illegal access based on destination addresses that are respectively pointed by the return addresses sequentially acquired by the return address acquisition unit at the timing detected by the detection unit and which terminates the data processing when the illegal access is detected.

  • Publication number: 20120047579
Abstract: An unauthorized access relating to buffer overflow is prevented reliably and easily, without dependence on the function that a CPU processes. An information device (1) performs data processing in cooperation with a central control unit and each program code developed in a memory; performs a hook process to detect a time when the program code is called; and performs a stack layout check process to sequentially acquire a return address of each program code developed in a RAM (30), detect an unauthorized access on the basis of a destination address indicated by the acquired return address, and stop the data processing when an unauthorized access is detected.

  • Publication number: 20050174510
Abstract: A difference in potential between a common power supply voltage and a data signal voltage required for driving an active-type liquid crystal display device is used, thereby making it possible to display a pictogram without additionally input a new signal to an opposite side. Moreover, a gray scale of a data signal is adjusted, thereby reducing a direct-current component in pictogram driving. A pictogram electrode in a pictogram display area is driven by a part of extra output terminals of a data driver for driving a moving image display area. With this, in a liquid crystal display device using thin-film transistors (TFTs) with a common substrate being an electrode on its entire surface, a simple structure including a moving image area and a pictogram display area is provided.

  • Patent number: 6191837
Abstract: A liquid crystal display and method of producing the same. The liquid crystal display comprises a first substrate having an outside surface and an inside surface, a second substrate having an outside surface and an inside surface facing the inside surface of the first substrate, and a liquid crystal composition sandwiched between the first and second substrates. The inside surface of the first substrate has disposed thereon at least first and second electrodes to thereby provide an electric field having a direction transverse to the first and second substrates and which controls the polarizing activity of the liquid crystal when a voltage is developed between the first and second electrodes. Furthermore, an electroconductive film is provided on the outside surface of one or both of the first and second substrates. The orientation of the liquid crystal is controlled by a transversely-oriented electric field.

  • Patent number: 6154266
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device for applying between electrodes lateral electric field in parallel to a substrate to control liquid crystal disposed between first and second substrates, when a rubbing treatment is conducted on an orientation film (15) on a first substrate having gate bus lines (7) and drain bus lines (8), active elements (9) arranged in a matrix form in correspondence with the respective intersection points of the gate and drain bus lines (7, 8), and a common electrode 11 and a pixel electrode 12 which are provided in an interdigital arrangement in each unit pixel portion, the rubbing treatment is conducted twice so that a first rubbing direction (13) set in the first rubbing step is opposite to a second rubbing direction (14) set in the second rubbing step by 180 degrees.

  • Patent number: 6069678
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device comprises shield means for shielding an electric field generated from a data line. For example, a common electrode is used as the shielding means in an IPS (In-Plane Switching) rode in which an electric field is applied in a direction respecting parallel to the substrates. Specifically, the common electrode is provided closer to the liquid crystal layer than the data line so that the common electrode covers the data line. As a result, the leak electric field from the data line is shielded by the common electrode. Therefore, the leak electric field does not adversely influence a liquid crystal layer. Consequently, the light shield area for the data line is unnecessary. This increases the aperture ratio.

  • Patent number: 5812228
Abstract: The invention provides a color liquid crystal display including (a) two transparent substrates A and B disposed in facing relation, (b) a plurality of switching elements disposed on a surface of the substrate A, the surface facing the substrate B, said switching elements defining an area, (c) a light-impermeable layer disposed on a surface of the substrate B, the surface facing the substrate A, and (d) a colored layer overlying the light-impermeable layer and defining a display area corresponding to the area defined by the switching elements. The colored layer has an extension extending over the display area in longitudinal and transverse directions of the display area. The extensions of the colored layer cover the light-impermeable layer therewith to thereby prevent a light reflected from the light-impermeable layer from entering the switching element. Thus, it is possible to prevent the black level of the display area from being whitened.
