  • Patent number: 4429140
Abstract: A process for preparing dibenzylidene sorbitols or dibenzylidene xylitols by reacting sorbitol or xylitol with a substituted or unsubstituted benzaldehyde or alkyl acetal derivative thereof in the presence of an acid catalyst, a hydrophobic organic solvent and a water-soluble organic polar solvent, the process being characterized by using the hydrophobic organic solvent in an amount sufficient to permit the resulting dibenzylidene sorbitols or dibenzylidene xylitols to separate out as crystals and capable of maintaining the reaction system in the form of a gel to solid phase and by conducting the reaction with forced agitation.

  • Patent number: 4312796
Abstract: A resin composition which does not substantially corrode molds, said composition being obtained by blending(I) 100 parts by weight of a resin composition composed of 5 to 80% by weight of (A) an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer resin or a methacrylic ester-butadiene-styrene copolymer resin and 95 to 20% by weight of (B) a vinyl chloride resin obtained by polymerizing vinyl chloride or a monomeric mixture composed mainly of vinyl chloride in the presence of a cycloolefin compound, with(II) 0.5 to 15 parts by weight of (C) a lead-type stabilizer comprising an inorganic acid salt of lead and an organic acid salt of lead in a weight ratio of from 1:10 to 15:1 or (D) a tin-type stabilizer comprising an alkyltin maleate and an alkyltin mercaptide in a weight ratio of from 1:10 to 15:1.

  • Patent number: 4251553
Abstract: The present invention relates to production and packaging of seasoned rice rolled in laver. A laver is fixed on a long strip of packing sheet for blocking the moisture and seasoned rice of cylindrical shape is situated at the center of said packing sheet. The packing sheet is then folded back in order to pack the laver and the seasoned rice separately, preventing the direct contact of them. When eating, said seasoned rice is rolled on the laver by pulling one end of the packing sheet, stripping the seasoned rice which rolls over the laver on the packing sheet. Thus, the flavor of laver can be secured from damage by moisture of said seasoned rice even long after production. In addition, said seasoned rice rolled in laver can be packed surely and cleanly for selling at a drive-in store or at a station.

  • Patent number: 4246000
Abstract: The invention provides: a fuel composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a coal-liquid fuel mixture and 0.02 to 1.0 part by weight of at least one additive selected from the group consisting of dibenzylidene sorbitol, ditoluylidene sorbitol, tribenzylidene sorbitol, tritoluylidene sorbitol and hydrogenated castor oil; and a fuel composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a coal-liquid fuel mixture, 0.02 to 1.0 part by weight of at least one additive selected from the group consisting of dibenzylidene sorbitol, ditoluylidene sorbitol, tribenzylidene sorbitol, tritoluylidene sorbitol and hydrogenated castor oil, and 1 to 10 parts by weight of water. The composition shows high stability over a prolonged period of time, preventing the separation into layers of the components.

  • Patent number: 4222908
Abstract: Thixotropic nail enamel comprising, a gelling agent, a gel composition containing a chip composition which is prepared by mixing, under heating and compression, organically modified montmorillonite clay, nitrocellulose, and a substance which is capable of swelling the montmorillonite clay and is capable of plasticizing the nitrocellulose is provided. The thixotropic nail enamel has the advantages that the viscosity thereof does not increase with the lapse of time and the gelling state thereof is stable. This gel composition can also delete toluene and xylene, which must be contained in the conventional nail enamel, from the thixotropic nail enamel of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 4173734
Abstract: In a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type fixed at a predetermined potential are formed a plurality of resistive regions of a second conductivity type. The resistive regions are connected in series between first and second potential supply terminals, through equally divided potential taking-out electrodes formed on the substrate. The resistive regions are so formed as to be progressively decreased in length in the order that the potential difference between the resistive region and the substrate increases to cause the resistive regions to have the substantially equal resistance values.
