  • Publication number: 20050201609
Abstract: The type and number of denomination of notes and the identification method of authentic notes differs for every country. The development of such identification device for these currencies in each country increases the manufacturing cost, and the processing time increases when the types of notes to be authenticated are increased. The present invention provides a paper sheet identifier device, which includes a main board for operating common processes independent from specific notes and sub-boards in parallel operation, allowing sub-boards connected to the main board to be added or replaced in accordance with the type and number of denomination of notes in a country along with the authentication method. The present invention improves the processing speed by parallelizing the identification processes, and the efficiency of updating the device specification when a new note is issued.

  • Patent number: 6914395
Abstract: An electronic ballast for a high intensity discharge lamp (HID) includes a power converters, a controller, and a lamp power switch. In the power converter, an input DC voltage is converted into a ballast output power for lighting the HID lamp. The controller has a function to control the power converter and change the ballast output power. The lamp power switch detects a lamp output parameter indicated after the HID lamp starts discharge, identifies a lamp power of the HID lamp according to the lamp output parameter, and gives an identification signal indicating the lamp power. In response to this identification signal, the power converter outputs the ballast output power which matches with the lamp power identified.

  • Publication number: 20040203741
Abstract: A communication system, usable as a radio facsimile system, can transmit/receive information using a dedicated protocol independently of the radio wave status, as well as improve the transmission efficiency by restarting the subject communication even when it is interrupted and restarting the communication beginning with the data immediately following the normally transmitted data. A communication controller relays the communications between radio facsimile and general facsimile, and changes protocols appropriate to the subject communication to reduce interruptions. In addition, when the subject communication is interrupted, the communication system can cope with it to continue the communication by re-dialing automatically at fixed intervals, adding the communication discrimination information for each communication, and sending communication discrimination information and position information concerning the data received immediately prior to the interruption.
