Abstract: An image forming apparatus including: a fixer that fixes a toner image formed on a recording medium by pressing and heating the recording medium nipped in a nip portion formed by causing two rotating bodies to pressedly abut on each other, and conveying the recording medium by rotating the rotating bodies; a motor that drives the rotating bodies by transmitting a torque to at least one of the rotating bodies; a torque detector that detects the torque transmitted to the rotating body by the motor; a temperature detector that detects temperature of the rotating body; a speed detector that detects a conveyance speed for conveying the recording medium by the fixer; and a controller that corrects the detected torque based on at least any one of the detected temperature and the detected conveyance speed and predicts a life of the fixer based on the corrected torque.
Abstract: An event prediction system according to an aspect includes an acquisition unit and a symptom detection unit. The acquisition unit acquires body movement data about a subject's body movement from a measuring device that outputs the body movement data. The symptom detection unit makes, based on a subset, acquired during a past reference period, of the body movement data, a decision about whether or not there are any symptoms of an onset of a particular event related to the subject.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a sensor processing system including an acquisition unit, a time series analysis unit, and a decision unit. The acquisition unit acquires measurement data from a measuring unit. The measuring unit measures a physical quantity, of which a value varies depending on whether a human is present in, or absent from, an object space. The time series analysis unit obtains an analysis model for a time series analysis in which the measurement data acquired at a predetermined timing is represented by multiple items, acquired before the predetermined timing, of the measurement data. The decision unit decides, depending on a decision condition including a condition concerning a coefficient of the analysis model, whether the human is present or absent at the predetermined timing.

A toner consumption amount calculating unit calculates a toner consumption amount of the block on the basis of a difference between a toner counting value of the first toner counter and a toner counting value of the second toner counter.

Abstract: There is provided an arc welding control method. As to a feeding rate of a welding wire, a forward feeding period and a reverse feeding period are alternated cyclically to generate short-circuiting periods and arc periods. When a constriction of a droplet formed at the welding wire is detected during the short-circuiting period, a welding current is reduced to shift to the arc period. Sensitivity of the detection of constriction is changed according to a waveform parameter of the feeding rate.

A feed control unit cyclically changes a feeding speed of the welding wire. The feeding speed includes a forward feeding speed and a rearward feeding speed. An amplitude control unit cyclically changes an amplitude of the feeding speed of the welding wire to cyclically vary an average arc length.
Abstract: A hydraulic system for a work machine includes a first switch valve and a first return circuit. The first switch valve is switchable between a confluent position and an isolation position.
