  • Patent number: 5367564
Abstract: A storage-and-forward apparatus accommodates a plurality of private lines and a plurality of public lines. The storage-and-forward apparatus includes an exchange for carrying out a connection and a disconnection between each of the private lines and each of the second lines, and an image memory for storing image information transmitted via each of the private lines from a facsimile. The storage-and-forward apparatus directly relays image information transmitted via each of the private lines from the facsimile to a destination coupled to a corresponding one of the public lines in a first mode, and stores the image information transmitted via each of the private lines from the facsimile in the image memory and transmits the information stored in the image memory to the destination via a corresponding one of the public lines in a second mode.

  • Patent number: 4800574
Abstract: A low cost analog-to-digital converter having a non-linear conversion characteristic produces an output digital signal non-linearly relative to an input analog transmission signal which is applied thereto for demodulation. A compensation circuit having a non-linear conversion characteristic converts the non-linear digital signal output from the analog-to-digital converter into a linear digital signal which has a larger number of bits than the non-linear digital signal.

  • Patent number: 4746986
Abstract: A manifold facsmile apparatus capable of selectively communication with a G3 analog facsimile apparatus and a G4 digital facsimile apparatus. The manifold apparatus includes an analog interface adapted for connection with an analog communication network and a digital interface adapted for connection with a digital communication network. The two interfaces are selectively connected to a communication control unit so that the apparatus is connectable to the analog network or the digital network. When called at the same time over the analog and the digital networks, the control unit gives priority to the digital network, Further, the control unit is capable of selectively performing data link control necessary for communication with the G3 analog terminal and data link control necessary for communication with the G4 digital terminal.
