Abstract: A GPS receiver includes a power supplying status detector for deriving a power-on or power-off signal by detecting a power supplying status of the GPS receiver, a clock for measuring time, a memory controller for controlling a nonvolatile memory upon receiving the power-off signal to store a time measured by the clock when the power is turned off or a time when the last ephemeris data is obtained and the last ephemeris data, and a position calculating circuitry for calculating the position of the user station upon receiving the power-on signal. A time duration is calculated from the time measured by the clock and the time stored in the nonvolatile memory.
Abstract: The microstrip antenna embodying the present invention employs a dielectric material that forms part of a motor vehicle body shell as a dielectric composing element thereof. The motor vehicle-mounted GPS receiver comprising an outer unit, an inner unit, a wireless signal transfer device for transferring signals between the outer unit and the inner unit, and a power source for supplying an electric power to the outer unit, whereby the signal transfer device is provided by a radio receiver installed in the inner unit or by a coupling capacitor consisting of a pair of flat plates and the dielectric motor vehicle body shell sandwiched therebetween. According to the present invention, there is no need of providing the finished motor vehicles with through holes and it is quite simple to equip the finished motor vehicle with the GPS receiver.
Abstract: A communications system for identifying a responding station called by a communications system caller station over a call channel and a plurality of speech channels. The system transmits information from the caller station, such as the selected speech channel and the designated responding station through the call channel, and receives information from a responding station on the selected speech channel. The communication between the communications system and the responding station on the selected speech channel is enabled only when information from the responding station is identical to information of the designated responding station transmitted from the communications system.
Abstract: An apparatus for horizontally casting concrete comprises a horizontally foldable multilink support arm composed of an attachment frame, a proximal boom, intermediate booms, and a distal boom which are pivotally coupled by joint tubes, a drive mechanism composed of worm wheels mounted on the joint tubes and worm gears mounted on the booms and held in mesh with the worm wheels for enabling the support arm to move in articulatory motion, a concrete pressure-feed pipe extending from a pump along the booms and through the joint tubes with swivel joints, and an attachment jig mounted on the attachment frame for being mounted on a column.
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device comprises a gate electrode provided via a gate insulating film on a semiconductor layer formed on a substrate and two diffused semiconductor regions provided to form a field effect transistor together with the gate electrode. An electrical charge is supplied to one of the diffused regions from the other region to thereby vary a width of a space charge layer appearing around the one diffused region so that informations "1" and "0" are selectively stored in the device. The stored information is read-out by detecting presence or absence of a buried channel between the space charge layer and the substrate.
