Abstract: In a communication terminal capable of selecting a communication medium best suited for the service settings and communicating via the selected medium, service executors include necessary applications and act as a trigger for the start of service provision. A communication controller has functions of detecting communication media, establishing connection therewith, selecting the most appropriate communication medium in response to service requests from the service executors, and performing communication. All communication between the service executors and communication nodes is performed via the communication controller, which acts as a proxy for the service executors. The communication controller sets and stores correspondence information between keywords contained in domain names and communication media to be used, between destination IP addresses and physical ports to be used, and between communication media and physical ports.

Abstract: The invention provides a communication continuation system for enabling the communication before handover to be continued after handover when a mobile node is moved from one network to another.

Abstract: In a mobile communication system including a home Mobile-IPv6 network for allocating a home address as a permanent address to a mobile node, a foreign Mobile-IPv6 network for allocating a care-of address to the mobile node, and at least one network including a stationary correspondent node not implementing Mobile-IPv6, a location supervising module stores the home address and said care-of address of the mobile node when the mobile node is away from the home Mobile-IPv6 network to the foreign Mobile-IPv6 network. An IP address translating module is provided for translation of an IP address between IPv6 and a protocol other than IPv6.

Abstract: This invention provides a reducing gas sensor which has a gas sensitive element composed of, as a main constituent, .gamma.-ferric oxide (.gamma.-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3) and, as an additive, at least one compound in the group of WO.sub.3, MoO.sub.3, SiO.sub.2, GeO.sub.2, Li.sub.2 O, Na.sub.2 O, K.sub.2 O, CaO, SrO, BaO, Eu.sub.2 O.sub.3, La.sub.2 O.sub.3, CeO.sub.2, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, Ga.sub.2 O.sub.3, In.sub.2 O.sub.3, SnO.sub.2, TiO.sub.2, MgO, NiO, ZnO, Mn.sub.2 O.sub.3 and Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3, a pair of electrodes and a heater element. The .gamma.-ferric oxide is in the form of a thin film, a plate or a thin surface layer on a sintered plate of .gamma.-ferric oxide. The gas sensor of the invention is much improved in the stability during use and also it has a high sensitivity.
