  • Patent number: 8005334
Abstract: An optical module including a cylindrical holder in an optical receptacle for optically connecting an optical fiber and an optical device, a ferrule that holds a tip end section of the optical fiber; and a holder that holds a base end section of the ferrule. The tip end section of the optical fiber and the ferrule are inserted into the cylindrical holder and held there within and a ring shaped spacer is provided that fills a gap between the cylindrical holder and the holder in a state in which the tip end section of the optical fiber and the ferrule are inserted into the cylindrical holder.

  • Patent number: 7891884
Abstract: An optical receptacle including a cylindrical sleeve formed using a material having higher elasticity than that of the optical receptacle main body. The sleeve is held within the sleeve holding section by being press-fitted and a sum of a press-fitted sleeve thickness and a press-fitted holding sleeve thickness in a radial direction is a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7708472
Abstract: It is to enhance mass-productivity through quick adhesion of an optical element 11 to an optical module holder 14 using an ultraviolet curable adhesive 7. When an optical element 11 is adhered to an optical element attaching section 5 by an ultraviolet curable adhesive 7 through ultraviolet rays being irradiated onto the ultraviolet curable adhesive 7 applied onto a predetermined application surface 5a on an inner circumferential surface of the optical element attaching section 5 from an outer side of the optical element attaching section 5, a thin-walled section 20 for maintaining a transmittance of the ultraviolet rays transmitted through the optical element attaching section 5 at a predetermined value or higher is formed on the optical element attaching section 5.

  • Publication number: 20100027944
Abstract: An optical receptacle and a manufacturing method thereof are provided in which good wiggle characteristics can be actualized at a low cost and mass-productivity can be improved. A sleeve 3 is formed using a material having higher elasticity than that of an optical receptacle main body 2. The sleeve 3 is held within a sleeve holding section 5 by being press-fitted.
