Abstract: Provided is a method for suppressing carcinogenesis, treating cancer, or mitigating adverse reactions of anticancer agents, with low prevalence of adverse reactions by administering an effective amount of a reduced coenzyme Q as an active ingredient. In the method, the reduced coenzyme Q can be administered in the form of pharmaceuticals, cosmeceutical, cosmetics, foods such as functional foods (supplements, health aid foods, nutritional supplementary foods, nutrient-fortified foods, nutrient-adjusted foods, health beverages, foods for specified health uses, foods with nutrient function claims), animal drugs, animal feeds, or animal foods.

Abstract: On a display window that displays code patterns that are read at a time, a code reading device allows the code pattern that is successfully decoded to be visually confirmed with ease. In a handy terminal, when an image scanner reads code patterns at a time in response to a trigger operation, a CPU performs decoding processes for each code pattern and determines whether the decoding processes have been successfully completed or not based on the decoding results so as to display an identifying mark indicating the determination result in association with the image of each code pattern.

Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A dental composite material comprising (A) a polymerizable monomer, (B) a filler comprising at least one heat-treated aggregate of silica and at least one metal oxide other than silica, wherein the aggregate has an average particle size of 0.5-30 &mgr;m, a refractive index of 1.46-1.65, a pore volume of 0.1-1.0 cc/g, a BET specific surface area of 50-500 m2/g, and a primary particle size of 1-250 nm, and (C) a polymerization initiator. The dental composite material of the present invention can satisfy various kinds of properties required as a dental composite material simultaneously.
