    Abstract: As a method for manufacturing a carbon nanotube assembled wire, that is capable of manufacturing the carbon nanotube assembled wire in a tubular carbon nanotube synthesis furnace efficiently, an adhesion suppressing gas stream is generated from an adhesion suppressing gas discharge port located between a second end of the carbon nanotube synthesis furnace and an end of a heater closer to the second end, the adhesion suppressing gas stream flowing between an internal wall of the carbon nanotube synthesis furnace and an external wall of a first channel, in which carbon nanotubes are oriented to form the carbon nanotube assembled wire, in a direction from the second end toward a first end to suppress adhesion of a plurality of carbon nanotubes to the internal wall of the carbon nanotube synthesis furnace.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a carbon nanotube assembled wire includes: a first step of supplying a carbon-containing gas at one, first end of a tubular carbon nanotube synthesis furnace to grow a carbon nanotube from each of a plurality of catalyst particles suspended in the carbon nanotube synthesis furnace to synthesize a plurality of carbon nanotubes; a second step of orienting the plurality of carbon nanotubes in a longitudinal direction of the carbon nanotubes in a first channel provided in the carbon nanotube synthesis furnace, and thus assembling them together, to form a carbon nanotube assembled wire; and a third step of collecting the carbon nanotube assembled wire using a collecting gas stream flowing from a second end of the carbon nanotube synthesis furnace opposite to the first end in a direction away from the carbon nanotube synthesis furnace.

    Abstract: An air conditioner for a vehicle has a heat pump type refrigerant circuit capable of operating at least in a heating mode. The air conditioner comprises a motor fan for supplying air heated by a heat exchanger to the interior of the vehicle during operation of the heating mode, a sensor for detecting the temperature of the air at a position downstream of the heat exchanger and a control unit for controlling the volume of the air supplied by the motor fan to a predetermined minimum volume by controlling the drive of the motor fan when the detected air temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature. Even in a condition where a sufficiently large heat radiation from the heat exchanger cannot be expected, a large volume of cold air that has been insufficiently heated can be prevented from being discharged into the interior of the vehicle.

    Abstract: Printed sheets discharged from a copying machine are fed by a sheet feed mechanism through a sheet reception slot and stacked selectively onto a non-sorting tray in a non-sorting process or a tiltable sorting tray among a plurality of sorting trays which is located in a sheet receiving position in a sorting process or a grouping process. The sorting tray in the sheet receiving tray is in a first posture in which it is inclined to a horizontal surface by an acute angle. The posture of the sorting tray is changed from the first posture to a second posture in which it is substantially horizontal when it is moved from the sheet receiving position to a sheet removal position. A pile of printed sheets stacked on the tiltable sorting tray in the sheet removal position is gripped by a gripper mechanism. The gripped pile of printed sheets is placed over a vertically movable inclined stacking tray, and then released onto the stacking tray.

    Abstract: An air conditioner for vehicles includes a refrigerant circuit having a compressor capable of varying its output, a heat sink and a radiator disposed in an air duct for cooling operation, heating operation and dehumidifying operation modes; sensors for detecting air temperatures at the output-side positions of the heat sink and the radiator, respectively; and a control unit for controlling the output of the compressor in response to at least one of the detected air temperatures. The heat absorbing action due to the heat sink and the heat radiating action due to the radiator are appropriately controlled in the refrigerant circuit side in the respective operation modes without unnecessary heat absorbing and heat radiating actions. Further, the temperature of the air discharged from the air duct into the interior of the vehicle can be properly controlled by adjustment of the heat absorbing ability of the heat sink and the heat radiating ability of the radiator by the control of the compressor output.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus of tracing VP's (virtual paths) wherein operational information of VP connectors are collected through OAM (operation and maintenance) cells. The VP connectors establish a connection at a VP level within a network in which the cells are transferred in an ATM (asynchronous transfer mode). Each VP connector detects an OAM cell for VP tracing as received from another of the VP connectors, and judges if an area for affixing the operational information in the VP connector itself exists in the detected OAM cell. In the VP connector when the area exists, the detected OAM cell is specified to be the OAM cell for writing the operational information thereinto, and the specified OAM cell is sent out after affixing the operational information thereto.

In the air conditioner, an optimum air conditioning in correspondence to the load required for air conditioning can be realized from the viewpoint of saving of energy and efficient operation.

    Abstract: An automotive air conditioning system including a folded duct for conveying conditioned air to a passenger compartment, a blower for forcing air through the duct and a partition wall for separating the passenger and engine compartments. The blower is positioned adjacent to one end of the duct which is in fluid communication with an opening formed in the partition wall. The one end of the duct is associated with a shell which covers at least a portion of the blower. The duct has a heater element and an evaporator disposed therein, wherein the evaporator is positioned at a bent portion of the duct. The shell, a portion of the duct and wall adjacent one side of the evaporator form a chamber. An air intake mechanism is associated with the chamber for alternately introducing air, either external to or from the passenger compartment, into the chamber. The air intake mechanism includes a control mechanism which forms part of the chamber and controls the source of air intake.
