    Abstract: A process for preparing a synthetic resin powder having an improved blocking resistance suitable as a modifier for vinyl chloride resins, which comprises coagulating an aqueous latex of a graft copolymer suitable as a modifier for vinyl chloride resins, mixing the resulting, slurry with a latex of a specific polymer of methyl methacrylate, an aromatic vinyl compound, a crosslinkling monomer and optionally other copolymerizable monomers or a slurry formed from the specific polymer latex by coagulation, and recovering a powder from the resulting mixture containing the coagulated graft copolymer and the coagulated specific polymer.

    Abstract: A vinyl chloride resin composition including: (1) 100 parts by weight of a vinyl chloride resin and (2) 0.1 to 30 parts by weight of a two-stage polymer, said polymer (2) being prepared by emulsion-polymerizing 60 to 95 parts by weight of a monomer mixture (A) of 50 to 95% by weight of methyl methacrylate, 5 to 50% by weight of an alkyl methacrylate with a C.sub.2 to C.sub.8 alkyl group and 0 to 20% by weight of a vinyl monomer to give a polymer latex and then polymerizing 40 to 5 parts by weight of a monomer mixture (B) of 20 to 80% by weight of an alkyl acrylate and/or an alkyl methacrylate other than methyl methacrylate, 80 to 20% by weight of methyl methacrylate and 0 to 20% by weight of a vinyl monomer in the presence of said polymer latex, said polymer (2) having a particle size of not more than 1000 .ANG. in the latex, and a specific viscosity at 30.degree. C. of the solution wherein 0.4 g of said polymer (2) is dissolved in 100 ml of benzene of 1 or more.

    Abstract: A vinyl chloride resin composition having improved weather resistance and impact resistance which contains, as a modifier, a graft copolymer which is prepared by graft-polymerizing 50 to 15 parts by weight of a monomer component composed of mainly methyl methacrylate on 50 to 85 parts by weight of a cross-linked alkyl acrylate polymer so that 30 to 90% by weight of the monomer component is graft-polymerized and, then, the remaining portion of the monomer component is graft-polymerized in the presence of 0.1 to 5% by weight, based on the whole amount of the monomer component, of a copolymerizable cross-linking agent, the fraction extracted from said graft polymer with methyl ethyl ketone having a specific viscosity of at least 0.6 as measured in a concentration of 0.1 g/100 cc in acetone at 30.degree. C. The composition has a reduced die swelling and provides shaped articles having excellent weather resistance and impact strength.
