  • Patent number: 5496347
Abstract: A surgical instrument for treatment in the body cavity, in which an open-close member for treatment is rockably mounted by of a pivot pin on the distal end portion of a sheath to be inserted into the body cavity, and is connected to the distal end of a rod passed through the sheath, by a cam mechanism including a cam groove and a cam pin in engagement therewith. As the rod is moved by an operating handle, the cam mechanism is activated to open and close the open-close member for treatment. The component members of the cam mechanism have external shapes such that those portions on the proximal end side of the position near the pivot pin do not project from the sheath in every operating state.

  • Patent number: 5387190
Abstract: An ultrasonic aspirator has a probe having the inside path made an aspirating path by being provided on the base side with an ultrasonic vibrator. The probe is used as an ultrasonic vibration transmitting member and is in contact at the tip with an object within a body cavity to crush the object and to discharge the crushed object out of the probe through the aspirating path. A device, for detecting a break of the probe, is provided so that, when the probe breaks, the vibration of the above mentioned ultrasonic vibrator will be stopped by a signal from the detecting device.

  • Patent number: 5154723
Abstract: A cerebral surgery endoscope apparatus comprises a stereotaxic instrument secured to the head of a patient and adapted to effect positioning of an affected part; an adjusted support means whose inserting direction is determined by its orientation to the stereotaxic instrument and which determines the direction in which a treating instrument is inserted into the head of the patient; a viewing device such as an endoscope supported on the support means and having a channel into which a treating instrument can be inserted, the treating instrument being inserted into a channel of the viewing device and then into the head of the patient. A fixing device is connected to the stereotaxic instrument and adapted to secure the support means, the viewing device and/or the treating instrument in a fixed position on with respect to the affected part.

  • Patent number: 4850342
Abstract: A hard endoscope of oblique view type which provides equal illumination of the range of visibility of the objective optical system. The endoscope has an exterior tubular member with an interior housing member disposed eccentrically within the tubular member and carrying an inspection optical system, with the distal end of the endoscope terminating in an oblique planar surface. Illuminating means are carried between the housing member and the exterior tubular member. In the region of the oblique planar surface, the interior of the tubular member and the exterior of the housing member define a passage for the illuminating means having a generally crescent-shap, or, preferably, two cylindrical surfaces in which the illuminating means are carried to transmit light from the oblique planar surface that will transmit light to produce the image of the illumated object, so that it may be clearly seen by the inspection optical system.
